!!From here on, the story hasn't been proofread. I unfortunately lost contact with my friend who did proofread this story before and after so long I just decided to upload the remaining chapters as they are - so if you find any mistakes, please tell me :)!!
When I woke up, the sun had been already set high. Sōma had gave Shizuka to the babysitter yesterday, when the symptoms got stronger. She's a colleague from his department as well as an omega. They're close friends with each other since they'd been students and he'd always trust her – even more so as she also have had a little daughter.
Sora was sitting on the couch, reading a book. He's startled, when he saw me and then averted his eyes. A rather long silence followed as I made me a coffee. I didn't heard him standing up and it made me jump myself, the cup in my hand luckily still empty, when he suddenly stood behind me.
«I'm so sorry!»
He bowed down deeply and almost humbly. He's shivering as he'd await a physical punishment and flinched, when I touched his shoulder.
«Sora, hey, calm down. You don't have to apologize and I'm neither angry nor will I am going to hurt you or something like that. Moreover, I'd feared it'd been, if anything, scaring you to see us like this.»
«Well, ehm... no... but, yes... a bit», he stammered and blushed, «but Sōma-san didn't seem in pain but rather enjoying it. So it seemed a heat could really be nice and all. And I decided for me, when I'll be older to get a mate like Takao-san.»
«I'm sure, you'll find someone just right.», I said and smiled relieved.
Sōmas heat didn't go down until the forth day. After Sora and I had been eating, I'd brought him his meals to the bed, as the episodes were always taking a toll on his body. I'd also stayed to watch, so he really would eat. As it wasn't good for Shizuka to be apart from her parents for to long as well, I asked Kaoru, the babysitter, to come over regularly, so she could help us. Sora was helping a lot as well and if a sudden heat wave came, Kaoru would took him, her three year-old daughter Mirai and Shizuka with her to the playground. I was really glad of her help. As a way to thank her and to belatedly celebrate Sora moving in with us, we invited both her and her daughter to eat out on the fifth day. It's a very nice evening and although she had only been a good acquaintance for me until now, I'd became really fond of the two of them in the last few days.
Luckily the days after had been a lot more calm. Sora adjusted well and got more independent day by day, so he even dared himself to pay the groceries under Sōmas surveillance. I on the other hand was getting back to my investigations on the Facility. As I had no leads aside from the forest so far, I decided to go there myself. I'd already told Sōma about my plans and the talk with Fujita yesterday after dinner, but to not possibly trigger Sora I just had told him this morning, that I had to deal with something important.
I drove back to the spot where I'd found Sora that day and walked off-road back into woods from where I assumed Soras way from that night. Despite the early time and the sunny weather it got pretty dark real quick because the thick coadunate crowns and it also made the search of hints more than difficult. I'd walked for a while and began to ask myself, like Fujita back then, if Sora really could've been walking for so long with his injuries, when I noticed a dried, red-brown stain on a tree. As I took a better look, I'd also see some little, round spots on the soil. Blood. I broke off a piece of the bark and put it in one of the paper bags I'd brought with me. I walked further and saw a small and torn piece of cloth which looked like the nightgown Sora had been worn that day. I immediately hoped that the hospital didn't had thrown it away in the meantime. But now I was undoubtedly on the right way. The further I'd gone, the more steeply the ground got up on the right hand side and then, all of a sudden, I walked out of the dark and back into the light. (Falco vibes xD)
