I didn't remember falling asleep but when I woke up, I felt something kicking my ribs. I sat up yawning and was surprised to see Sora sleeping next to me. Then I remembered one of the foster moms saying, that he wasn't used to sleeping alone and could got anxious easily, when he woke up at night. Luckily, he seemed to tolerate the plant-based sedative, they prescribed him at the hospital, so he could at least sleep without nightmares by now. I guess, Sōma had just willingly allowed him to take over his side of the bed earlier this morning. I stood up, got dressed and closed the door as quietly as possible behind me.

«Morning.», I said yawning. The smell of baked toast and fried eggs wafted around my nose.

«Good morning. Perfect timing as usual.», Sōma greeted back, sitting on the couch and feeding Shizuka, while watching the 9-o'clock-morning news on TV.

«I know. I'm just deciding now what to devour first: you or the breakfast?»

«Don't worry.», he giggled, «In contrary to the eggs, I'll be hot and delicious later on as well.»

I bent down to gave both of them a kiss. Shizuka chuckled at me happily, just to, as unabashed as she was, pinch my nose a moment later.

«Hey, you little Krabby! I still need this one.»

«Yeah right, a police officer really need his good nose, because he can't be one without it.»

Sora leaned on the supporting pillar, which was an architectural part of the gallery, and rubbed his eyes.

«You see?», I laughed, but Shizuka seemed just moderately impressed. «Good morning, Sora. Did you sleep well?»

«Yeah, I think so. It's just that I'm always getting anxious at night if I'm alone. I didn't know where to go at first, but Murakami-san had already been awake. He made me tea and assured me to go sleep in his bed.»

«Of course. I'm sure you'll eventually get used to it, so you don't have to be anxious anymore and we're in the room next to you anyway.», I said.

«And you don't have to be so polite, just call me Sōma, ok?», Sōma added, who just placed two cups of coffee on the table.

«Is it really ok?»

«Sure. Do you want a hot cocoa?»

«Oh I know, that's the brown and sweet powder, isn't it? I like that, äh... Sōma-san?», he looked unsure but then relaxed, when Sōma nodded and smiled in agreement.

After the breakfast I decided together with Sora, to use the sunny weather and take a walk around the city. I wanted to show him around the neighborhood and the beach, and thought it's also important to show him the police station and the temple, in case something happened.

Sōma said, he'd have to work for the next lectures. He looked a bit tired but when I asked him about it, he avoided the question, saying that he'd take a rest later today. I was still concerned, but trusted him nonetheless.

The day flew by like that, we were sitting at the beach and talked, ate crêpes and on the way home I bought Takoyaki from a small food stand for dinner. I just payed, when my phone rang. It's Sōma, but he's panting heavily, his voice just a whining whisper and I'd difficulty understanding him.

«– kao... need you... body hurts... Alpha, I need you...»

Could it be, what he said this morning about still being hot later on was meant, maybe unconsciously, partly as a joke and partly serious? I sighed. So he'd kept it hidden again.
