You stood at your locker, taking the books that you needed for your next class, it was the last class of the day, and you knew Cairo would be here to meet you and Winnie to walk together. But before that, you also knew that Miss Everett passed by here to go to her gym class. You closed your locker, quickly turning around just in time for her to be passing by, and just like that, Miss Everett uttered a quick apology for bumping into you and tossing your books on the floor. She crouched down, picking them up. "You don't have to apologize, miss. I'm actually glad you're here.""Is that so?" She looked up from her spot, and she had a good view of your outfit. A simple maroon colored button up that was untidily tucked under your black skirt, that also matched your cardigan. Any lower and she would be able to see under your skirt. "Why is that?" She slowly stood up, looking down at you as she handed you your books.
"Well..." You leaned against the lockers. "You know how much I've missed your classes." At this point Cairo should have made it here, which only told you she was probably somewhere close, hopefully hearing in the conversation.
And she was. Cairo stood at one of the corners of the hall, looking at the two of you as you so obviously tried to flirt with her. She wanted to laugh it out, to bring it up and tease you, but all she felt was a sinking feeling in her stomach at this exact moment. And she didn't know why. You were her best friend regardless, so why did she feel like this?
However, she knew why, but she refused to even fancy the idea that she felt something for you other than friendship. She wasn't like that, and she wouldn't be like that. Her thoughts came to an end when she noticed Miss Everett finally walk away from you.
She placed a smile on her face and made her way to you. And she hated how you still kept your eyes on your teacher until she was out of view. "You are insane." Cairo forced out a chuckle. You two were best friends, nothing else.
"What. Not only will I have an easy A, but I'll also have fun." You replied, whispering the last bit as you teasingly winked at Cairo. You were always a laid back person, so it was pretty easy for you to still be able to act the same with your best friend even if you had feelings for her.
She suppressed an eye roll at your comment, wishing she could just tell you to stop this 'relationship' you were having with Miss Everett. But she knew she couldn't, because she wasn't some kind of–
"Whatever, let's just go." Cairo said, glad it came out with a short laugh instead of a scoff. They started walking, seeing Winnie just around the corner. "You jealous?" You tried to make it sound like you were joking, but your eyes scanned her face as you waited for an answer. Hoping to find some underlying truth behind her face.
Yes, I am. "If I say yes would you lay off her?" Cairo said instead, burying those other thoughts deep inside where they couldn't be seen or heard.
"If she says yes, would you lay on her?' Winnie joined in, hearing the last bit of the conversation. And she knew exactly what you two were talking about, because it was Winne you came to about Miss Everett, and how you wanted to use her to see if Cairo would show any form of jealousy. She wasn't fond of the idea at first, telling you that you deserve someone better, but there was nothing she could do to stop you. So as your friend, she supported you.
Cairo all but laughed, shaking her head and choosing not to answer.

You were back at Cairo's place. Winnie laid on the bed, head dangling at the edge of the bed, upside down as she sucked on her lollipop. You sat with Cairo on the couch, leaning on the opposite side of the armrest from Cairo, facing her. Like always, your legs were interlocked together. Which you soon believed was a bad idea, since from your spot you could basically see in between Cairo's legs (she had long ditched her skirt to be more comfortable alongside Winnie, leaving her with just her panties and button up). You tried your hardest to focus on the book in front of you.
