The following weeks went by excruciatingly slow for you. Having to sit through class and see the way Cairo and mister Miller sent longing looks to each other was not something you looked forward to. It didn't help that you sat on the front row, just to the left table of Cairo's, meaning you had front row tickets.

Mister Miller might have been thinking he was being quiet, but you were able to hear the way his sultry voice whispered in Cairo's ear, asking her to meet him after school.

You sighed, shutting your locker. Winnie was waiting right next to you, a grumpy look on her face. Which only meant she was hungry. She always got more grouchy whenever she was dying to eat something. "Let's go." You nudged her, walking back to go find Cairo. You were glad Winnie wasn't talking all that much. Because if she was, she would non stop tease you about Cairo and mister Miller, telling you all about what they could possibly be doing after school right about now.

Winnie opened the door half heartedly, slouching as she walked to sit on one of the sofas. You walked in right after her, sighing a breath you didn't know you were holding once you saw Cairo and your teacher sitting across from each other on different sofas. A good distance between them.

Their conversation got interrupted when they saw you both. "Oh no." Cairo grabbed her backpack after seeing how Winnie was acting, exasperating as she sat down. Miller looked between the three girls, wondering what was going on. After a few seconds of silence, Winnie expressed her reasoning for acting like this through her childish voice. "Hungy."

Cairo stood up, a smile on her face. "She's hungry. She just doesn't use real words," She leaned over to hover her face over Winnie's. "because she's a child." You chuckled, helping Winnie up from her seat after Cairo leaned back.

And after getting something to eat, Winnie was back to normal.

You three talked all night after that, gossiping about everything and anything. It's how you and Winnie found out that Cairo was told about the midterm earlier than anyone else (which was to write a short story with the writing structure of an author of your choosing), and she was also going out on the weekend with Mister Miller. Something about poems or whatever. It irritated you to the point where you tried to block out the conversation, going on and on about him.

The weekend of, you decided to spend it at Winnie's place, knowing if you'd stayed home you'd only feel more depressed.

"Are you just gonna mope around or what?" Said Winnie from her spot, her signature lollipop on her hand. She was laying down on her bed, leaning against her pillows. You laid sprawled out right across from her, your head leaning out of the bed upside down. "I'm not moping." You scoffed.

"It sure seems like it." Her eyes trailed over your attire, a button up with a stripe pattern that Cairo gave you, and then nothing but panties underneath. It was normal to see you like that, but did you really have to lay down opposite of her where she could see right in between your legs?

"Well I can't help it when I know Cairo is hanging out with our teacher." You look over at her, leaning against your elbows now. "Did you really have to bring up Miller that other night? Or for the past few weeks for that matter."

Winnie chuckled. "It was only fair after we made her jealous when we talked about Everett." She sucked on her lollipop. You rolled your eyes.

"See, your problem is that you need to step it up."

"What do you mean?" You looked at her curiously.

"You need to do something that will make her jealous." Winnie suggested, pushing herself off her leaning position to start crawling towards you.
