"How's this?" Nami asked dressed in some new outfit, the store owner kept responding to her.

"Oh! You look wonderful, Miss!"

She changed into another one, "How's this?"

"You look so elegant, Miss!"

"How's this?"

"Elemental, Miss!"

"How's this?"

"Electrical!"

"How's this?"

"Elegy!"

She then had every single outfit piled up, he asked with a smile, "will you be purchasing all of these?"

Nami then just grinned, "No, I don't want them."

"I want something that's rougher." She said walking out, Maki sighed and followed her.

"Sorry." He gave a sympathetic gaze to the store clerk.

He sighed following her.

"This is so boring..." he thought to himself, "I'd rather be listening to Usopp's stories than this..."

"Was that necessary?" He asked her right behind her.

She shot him a wink and stuck out her tongue, "of course, I needed to show off."

He shook his head sighing.

Nami walked into another store looking for clothes. Maki actually grabbed a black sweatshirt, it looked pretty cozy. He grabbed it and threw it on.

"So~" Nami grinned. "How much money do you have~?" She asked with a smirk.

He deadpanned at her, "none for you. Thief."

Nami gave him a glare, "hey! I was just curious!"

He chuckled, "I was a merchant remember? I made plenty of money selling stuff."

"Oh." She stood up straight. "Yeah, I remember. That old guy at the bar, on that island also said you would do heavy lifting."

He nodded, adjusting the sleeves of the hoodie. "Yeah. It was pretty easy."

She felt sweat drop from her forehead remembering the large crate he effortlessly carried from when she first met him. Also for the way he gripped Arlong by the face and effortlessly threw him to the ground.

"E-easy?" She muttered.

"Yeah?" He asked confused.

"You're a monster just like them..." she mumbled.

Maki purchased the sweatshirt he had bought and Nami was talking to the cashier, who was filling a large bag of all the things Nami had purchased.

"You're gonna make me carry that aren't you?" He asked annoyed.

She winked, "guilty as charged~"

The cashier started speaking, "you kids should be careful, lots of pirates around here around this time of year."

Maki just stared silently not filling her in that they were in fact pirates.

"Luckily Captain Smoker's here to keep this town safe." She said packing the bag of more clothes.

"Captain smoker?" Nami asked, her arm resting against the table.

"Yeah. He's one of the toughest guys from the Navy Headquarters." She said, "this town used to be a hangout for pirates headed for the Grand Line."

"Smoker?" He pondered. The name sounded familiar.

"But ever since he took over," the woman continued. "Every single pirate who's come into this town has wound up in the slammer."
