Chapter 29 : Test Of Courage

The next day of training came and went. It was harder for some as the remedial class ended in the dead of night leaving them exhausted though Aizawa states that they will have more improvements that way. At night the classes were once again tasked with cooking dinner. As Midoriya had cooked for them yesterday they decided that Midoriya should be exempt from cooking and washing the dishes. After dinner, the remedial students went to their class as the pussycats gathered the rest of the classes.

"Alright everyone tonight we have a game for both classes to play. The game is called a test of courage. Both classes will go into the forest for a spooky night stroll. One class will act as scarers trying to scare the other class. The other class will go into the forest in pairs and their objective is to not show fear and to pick up their name tags from Ragdoll in the forest. The game lasts for 15 minutes and the roles switch. Whichever class gets the most scares wins."

Class 1-b all go into the forest. They were given 5 minutes to get into position. Pairs of class 1-a went in every two minutes. As Uraraka and Asui went out of sight, two villains appeared and knocked out Pixie-bob.

"Hello heroes, we are the vanguard action squad from the League of Villains. I am Spinner and this lovely lady is Magne."

Spinner looks at the class and recognizes Tenya as the last target of Stain but not before seeing the only other person to be deemed a true hero. His facade falls and he runs up to Midoriya to shake his hand

"Oh my god, it's Invincible Stain's true hero."

But before he could move he was stopped by Magne.

"Spinner don't forget why we're here."

The two villains got into position to attack the heroes which also do the same.

"Mandalay, Kota is missing I know where he is."

"Midoriya I give you permission to use your quirk to get Kota and engage with any hostiles on the way."

Two red wings burst from Midoriya's back and he flies to Kota's hideout. On the way he sees blue flames beginning to engulf the forest. Some of the students were trying to evacuate to the camp building. He gets to Kota's location and spots a large man with a familiar quirk.

"Hey, kid this is a pretty good spot. You  could see the whole forest from here."

"W-who are you? How did you find my hideout?"

"Oh. I'm just a hiker. In fact. I'm looking for someone. Do you happen to know anyone with green hair?"

"Oh, I'm right here."

The large man Midoriya recognized as Muscular turned around and found a fist centimeters away from his face. The fist connects as Muscular is embedded in the mountainside.

"Come on Kota let's go. Your aunt is waiting for you."

Muscular suddenly bursts out of the mountain and tries to punch Midoriya but to no avail as his fist is halted by a palm. He tries again and this time Midoriya takes it on the chin effortlessly, his head barely moving. Muscular redoubles his efforts as more muscle fibers cover his arms. Each hit caused shockwaves which knocked Kota onto his ass.

"So you're Izuku Midoriya. The boss told me to not get you when I see you but I don't care I haven't faced anyone who could shrug off my blows. Show me more!"

Muscular bulks up more and rushes Midoriya with a flurry of blows. Each blow getting stronger and stronger yet Midoriya stood firm. After a while Muscular backs off panting.

"Why... Won't... Go... Down...?!"

"I get stronger the more you hit me. Did Shigaraki not tell you?"

Muscular's eyes widen in excitement.

"Anyway, I think we've been here long enough."

Midoriya disappears from view and Muscular starts to look around to see where he is going to attack from. He was suddenly grabbed by the back of his head sending him into the dirt.

"Sleep."

Muscular falls unconscious.

"Kota?"

He comes running out of his hiding spot.

"Midoriya are you okay?"

"Oh I'm just fine it'll take a lot more than that to take me down. Let's go."

Kota was picked up and Midoriya flew back to camp. On the way, he sees Aizawa just restraining a black-haired villain in his bandages before the villain turns into sludge. Midoriya lands and puts Kota down.

"Midoriya, what took you so long? "

"Muscular held me up. The league is after me."

"Then you should get back to camp. I go get everyone else."

"That would take too long and I've already faced them before. If I just go back then they will target the others."

"...Okay go tell Mandalay that students are allowed to use their quirks. I'll get Kota back."

Midoriya flies back into the air and back to Mandalay and Tiger who were on the back foot.

"Puny heroes you're no match for the vanguard action squad."

Midoriya falls from the sky and stomps on spinners back. Magne distracted was quickly taken care of.

"Mandalay, Kota is with Aizawa and he has a message. All students are allowed to use their quirks under his name to escape the villains."

Mandalay broadcasts the message to the students still in the forest. Midoriya looks out into the forest with quirk sight and sees a large hoard of Nomu closing in on their position.

"Mandalay I'm going to go save the rest of the class that are still in the forest."

"Ok stay safe."

Midoriya flaps his wings and flies toward the large horde of Nomu. The quirks they had were all the same copies of shock absorption, hyper regeneration, and several strength and speed enhancers. Midoriya drops down in the middle of the horde taking the quirks of whichever Nomu contact with him. After getting through most of them he spots a person in a trench coat, a top hat and wearing a white mask.

"Hello, my name is Compress. I believe I would be your ride for your kidnapping."

"Well with a quirk like yours, I would expect nothing less. Let's get this over with. Did they give you cuffs?"

"Yep."

Midoriya places the cuffs around his neck and walks up to compress. Compress places his hand on his shoulder.

"Ready?"

Midoriya looks behind him and sees Aoyama looking at him. Midoriya mouths that it's part of the plan and is turned into a blue marble.
