"Right. So Zeus," 'Mom' pointed at the Gregory kid, "Hades," she pointed at Lucky, "and Hephaestus." She pointed at me. Why is she rattling off about Greek gods? "Right?" She asked.

"What?" Lucky asked with Gregory parroting the sentiment.

"Why are you quoting Greek arrogance at us?" I asked, probably more hostile to "Mom" than necessary.

"It's," she paused, and a look reminiscent of realization came across her face, "their abilities and domains are similar to your powers. Hades even has a helm that gives him an ability that is similar to something Lucky does." That's obviously a lie, or a half truth at most.

"I'm not stupid. I know you're giving a half a**ed explanation and I WILL get a fully detailed one later." I explained, narrowing my eyes at her.

"Language." Of course. Figures "Mom" would be a Captain America. "Plus, I am planning on it, but there isn't enough time."

"Yeah, yeah. Your bot is fixed but his casing is trash and the stupid head designer of this building didn't leave any spares here. If you find 'em or spare parts lying around I can upgrade him, but he'll function." I explained, cleaning a wrench.

The three nodded, and Lucky, hugging Kitty, asked, "Will you come with us on our adventure?"

"No. I have a," I put the next word in quotations, "'date' in the kitchen." I explained, hoping that that would be enough to dissuade her.

Unfortunately, the knowledge of my quest had the opposite effect on her, "Ooh! Can we come with you?" How did I forget how excited she gets at any possibility of adventure?"

No, too dangerous. Chica wanders around there most often." I explained, but this only piqued Gregory's interest.

"Well, you shouldn't go alone. Lucky has that hiding in shadows thing, and I can hide in Freddy's stomach hatch." He explained. The little s***, giving Lucky ideas.

I narrowed my eyes at him as I asked, "And why should I bring you with me?" Yes, I'm smug.

"I can zap the duck if I you need me to," he came closer to me and whispered in my ear, "plus, Lucky would worry about you, and she needs at least two people supervising her at all times." Aw, Sparky sounds concerned. Which, given Lucky's attention span, is fair.

"Fair point, but you're misunderstanding one thing." I leaned in close, glaring, "I'm not out to hurt Chica, I'm out to free her."

He flinched slightly, before putting on a mask of calm. "The duck is murderous, I could zap 'er lights out if you need me to, and then you can free her when she isn't trying to give us to the dumb rabbit lady to have us killed." He shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant.

UGH! "And have you fry her circuits!? No thanks! I'm going alone, you four stay here!" I turned to leave, but Lucky hugged me.

"No! I don't want you to get hurt!" She shouted, burying her face in my back.

"We used those electric doors on Roxy and Monty, and they're fine!" Gregory argued at the same time.

I sighed. "Those doors are set with a very specific frequency and voltage, and Lucky I'll be fine. I have my little escape trick remember?" That shut Gregory up. Lucky, not so much.

"But it makes you sick! And I could get you AND me AND Gregory out without getting sick, and you could just tell Gregory how much electricity to use!" She shouted, pouting.

I removed her arms from my waist, and crouched down to her height. "Lucky, I appreciate your caring nature, but you're staying here and that's final."

"No! I'm not letting you get hurt! I'll just follow you without you knowing!" She doesn't understand how dangerous this is. I rolled my eyes and left. I know they're following me, but I'll just ditch them- who's crying? Is there someone else here?
