A few hours before Kate called...
Valentine's Day. The day both Luthors were excited for. Lena followed Kate down the lobby and outside. She waved goodbye as Kate got in the limo.
"Don't worry, Ms. Luthor. Kate will be fine. I'll pick Ms. Romanoff next and I'll let you know when I drop them off. Are you sure you don't want me to stay around longer?"
"Yes, Henry. Get home and enjoy your Valentine's Day. I'll pick her up myself."
"Ok, thank you, Ms. Luthor."
"Of course, Henry. And please call me Lena."
Henry just smiled before getting in and driving off. The entire drive to Yelena's house, Kate was on edge. When they made it to her house, Kate's nerves were skyrocketing. But she ran up to the front door, but before she could ring the doorbell, Yelena opened the door. She was wearing a black dress, hair curled, and deep red lipstick.
"Holy shit." Kate gasped.
"Kate Bishop, you have dressed up nicely."
"Thank you. Are you ready for our perfect date?"
"Any date with you is perfect." Yelena responded.
Kate's heart fluttered.
She's going to be the death of me. Kate thought.
"Then let's go. Our chariot awaits."
"Oh, so chivalrous."
"Who says chivalry is dead?" Kate asked as she opened the door for her.
"Do you have the time? I got a book full of names."
Kate laughed as she got in herself. The entire way to the restaurant, Kate and Yelena held hands. Kate was now getting more and more excited. Finally celebrating Valentine's Day with a girlfriend. She was very happy.
"So, what do you have planned for this perfect date?" Yelena asked.
"Well, first I just wanted to sit here with you, hold your hand, and just cruise for a bit."
Yelena's grip tightened.
"Then, we're going to a really nice restaurant, my mother and Kara went there and both highly suggested it."
"Oh, nice. Anything else?"
"A lovely walk home, and something else."
"Oh?"
"But that's going to be a surprise."
"Well, color me intrigued."
"Where did that saying even come from?" Kate asked.
"No idea."
For the rest of the trip, Kate and Yelena sat in a comfortable silence, holding hands the entire way. But then Henry pulled into the parking lot and let the two ladies out.
"Thanks Henry. Have a great Valentine's Day." Kate said, as she walked up to the driver's window.
"Thank you, Ms. Luthor. You too."
Kate waved as Henry drove off. Kate took Yelena's hand again and walked them both in.
"Name?" The hostess asked.
"Kate Luthor."
"Luthor, Luthor, ah Luthor. Right this way."
She led them to a nice small table with two chairs and a velvet red tablecloth.
"Kate Bishop, you went all out with this."
"Actually, all the tables have these tablecloths, all I did was reserve a table for today."
