Chapter 3
Bella's POV
Something cold and wet struck my face and I let out a cry of surprise and shot up out of my sleeping position. I glanced up and saw Adonis smirking down at me, holding an empty glass of water in his hand. I narrowed my eyes and stood up, a small ache in my back that I had grown accustomed to from sleeping on the cold, concrete floor.
"What the hell was that for?" I spat.
He narrowed his eyes at me and dropped the glass, making it collapse to the floor and shatter into pieces. I flinched but held my gaze with his, trying to muster up as much hate as I could. Apparently, it wasn't hard for him to show his hate for me.
I didn't even say it coming. I instantly felt a stinging sensation on my left cheek and fell to the floor again. My cheek throbbing painfully and was probably going to have a bruise later. I looked up at Adonis and satisfaction shined in his eyes. As I stood up, he spoke:
"You deserved that. I've warned you to not speak to me like that. Obviously your ego is to big to listen to the rules." he hissed at me.
I placed a hand on my cheek and grimaced as I felt it throb. Stupid leech.
"What do you want then?" I said a little more calmer than before even though I was dying to stab him with a stake on the inside.
Adonis noticed the change in my attitude and smirked, making my hate towards him a lot more stronger. One of these days he is going to pay for that.
"Well, human, I'm supposed to take you out of the dungeon and up to the infirmary to get your damn arm fixed." He grumbled angrily before grabbing my good arm and yanking me out of the cell. I glared at the back of his head as he dragged me through the endless halls of the dungeon until we finally reached the door that led out of here.
Adonis glanced back at me briefly and handed me a pair of sunglasses that were deeply tinted. I raised an eyebrow at this and gave him an odd look. Adonis smirked again. I growled.
"Trust me, you might want to put them on." he said. I sighed and reluctantly put them over my eyes, everything darkened so much that I was actually grateful when Adonis grabbed my arm and began leading me again.
Just as Adonis pushed open the door, a small amount of light snuck its way into the darkness I had grown so accustomed to and I sucked in a breath of pain as the light reached my eyes, giving me a vicious headache.
I now understood why Adonis had given me the sunglasses. The light hurt like hell. I clamped my eyes shut but yelped in pain when I felt Adonis's nail dig into my skin. I opened my eyes, hating it, and glared at Adonis who was glaring at me.
"Keep your damn eyes open. They need to adjust to the light." he hissed.
I was about to protest when he squeezed my arm which resulted in pain. I shut my mouth and decided to listen to him. I guess he was right though. Because after a while of dragging me through endless upon endless corridors throughout what looked like a kingdom, there happened to be windows down every corridor and light shined through them; making my eyes be able to with-take them.
When Adonis finally reached a large, fancy looking oak door that looked like it was meant for a king, he gave me one last smirk and pushed it open, revealing a huge room that didn't look anywhere near an infirmary. I gave him a cold look and planted my feet firmly on the ground so he wouldn't move me. Though, considering he was a vampire, he still had advantages. But he seemed a little more persistent than before.
