There's Something About the Moonlight
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
WAYNE COULDN'T CONTAIN his excitement as a huge grin was now on his face. Raj had been telling him time to time to talk to the girl, and now this was finally his chance to have a real conversation with her rather then talking through challenges! It was perfect! "Yeah! I-I mean for sure eh!" He stammers, "Ya wanna start going?" He asks as he points towards the beach behind him.
Y/n smiles, "Let's start going!" She asserts as they now began to walk away, heading towards the beach. Silence looming over them as both were now slightly awkward. Wayne was scratching the back of his neck as he subtly glances at the girl, trying to come up with a conversation starter, "So, uh, figure skating, eh?" He wondered.
Y/n has heard this question over and over again, to the point where it genuinely annoyed her. She knows that Bowie supports her immensely and even encourages her to take as many opportunities she can get, which landed her to be on Total Drama as well. However, She's also had a lot of negative experiences about taking figure skating seriously. She's talk to so many people about it and even her ex-boyfriend didn't believe in her.
"It's just a hobby, not an actual job..."
"I just think there's better career choices then...that."
"Babe, come on seriously? You know that's not a real sport."
Y/N LOOKS AT WAYNE, expecting any sense of judgment on his face but she looked slightly taken back as she then sees a genuine smile on his face as he waits for the girl to respond, his brow raised with curiosity. Y/n softly smiles as she looks away, it's been awhile since she's seen anyone genuinely curious about why she wanted to pursue figure skating, "Well, at first it started as a hobby. I was small at the time, maybe...7? or 8?" She shakes her head with a playful smile, "Either way, it was a long time ago. I remember Bowie and I used to go ice skating every month and I always felt so free when we'd go."
She couldn't help but let out a chuckle, with Wayne listening intently through her words, "I would be doing a few twirls and I'd come up with some dances to take my mind off a few things. I remember I would always go on T.V and watch those figure skaters just performing so...gracefully and beautifully, I would always try to copy their moves and make up my own moves as I go. I remember I would just stare at the t.v and I told myself, that's gonna be me one-day..." She lets out a giggle right after, "I'm sorry, I got a bit too cheesy."
"No, no, it's okay." Wayne interjects, "I know you're going to make it big!" He encouraged, giving her a cheeky smile. Y/n raises her brow in amusement, "You really think so?" She questioned, giving him a playful smirk.
Wayne's smile grew even bigger, "For sure, eh! I saw that smile a few days ago!" Y/n raises her brow in confusion, "What are you talking about?" She asks. "Remember when ya got trapped in the big tube thingy?" He questions, with Y/n immediately recalling that memory, "Oh...yeah, that..." She trails off, muttering. "What about it?"
"Ya told me that it keeps ya calm. If ya keep enjoying it and you're have fun with dancing on the ice, I think you'll make it big!" He advised. Y/n couldn't help but take his words into consideration, "Huh," She hums, "Never really thought about that," She muttered.
She then glances at the blonde, "What about you?" She asks. Wayne raises his brow in confusion, "Huh? What about me?" He questions. "How did you get into hockey?" Y/n inquired.
