Angel woke up in his bed with a sore back. He looked over to see Huey naked and knocked out next to him.

"Oh, right..." Angel sighed. He was that in the trenches that he let Huey hit. He sighed because he hated how much he enjoyed it.

He shook Huey's shoulder.

"Huey, get up. It's time for you to get to stepping."

Huey groaned and rolled over.

"Already? Ha, you don't waste any time, do you? Thanks for calling me last night. Appreciate it!" He kissed Angel's cheek.

"Whatever. Leave. And... call me when you get off of work... I guess."

Huey threw on his clothes and bolted out of the door, realizing he had to go to work. Luckily for Angel, it was Saturday, so school was out.

There were so many days that Angel just felt like a shell of himself. A shell without Bia. He hated how the Moon Goddess was so cruel to him, giving her to him as his mate, knowing that Cedric was so possessive of her. There was no way he was letting her go.

Angel then wondered if there was some mythical, magical way he could gain Cedric's favor, thus getting closer to Bia. It was wishful thinking because there was no way Cedric was going to let another man near Bia. But it was nice to think of it anyway.

Angel's phone buzzed on the night stand, pulling him out of his head. he looked down, and saw an unknown number.

"Hi Angel, it's Saturn. I know it's been some years, and I'm contacting you out of the blue. but If you aren't busy, I'd like to make some plans to catch up with you. I'd like to talk to you about some things."

"Saturn...?" Angel could hardly even believe his eyes. it was the alpha from his pack, requesting that they meet all of a sudden after not seeing each other or communicating after literal years. did Angel even want to see him? the man reminded him so much of his brother that he'd never see again. he thought it would bring up so much pain, but he felt like a friend was really what he needed-if it was the real Saturn.

his fingers hovered over the touch screen as he thought about what he wanted to say. Angel decided to bite; he could make plans to meet the person claiming to be Saturn in public so nothing strange would go down.

he texted back-

"I'll meet you at the little coffee shop on Third in an hour."

-

Angel opened the shop's door to a comforting smell of coffee and baked goods. he stood for a bit, glancing around at the relatively calm atmosphere. tucked away in the corner of the shop was Saturn. he looked the same but older of course. his hair was longer than Angel remembered.

"S-Saturn."

"Angel," Saturn said quite excitedly. he stood up from his seat and pulled Angel into a hug. Angel truly did feel comforted.

"look at you. i knew you got older, but seeing you this big is too much! how are you?"

Angel caught him up on everything that had happened in his life since Carlisle Academy and he watched as different expressions crossed Saturn's face-shocked, disgruntled, pitying.

"you know, I'm so glad I found you ... especially since your brother's passing. wish I would've found you sooner."

"I know. me too," said Angel.

after learning about Angel's conundrum dealing with his mate and Cedric, he felt like reintroducing some life back into him.

"Angel, you know what? let's go to the woods, the outskirts of the city! we can have a run, like we used to with the pack!"

Angel felt his mood begin to turn around for the better. he wallowed in self pity, but it was time to change that. the both of them left the cafe, eager to get their run underway. in the woods outside the city, previously a pain point for Angel at one time in his life, they stashed their clothing safely and transformed into large, beautiful wolves. they raced through the trees like the wind, even running around in circles.

Saturn initiated a dialogue between them using their mind link.

"doesn't this take you back? we used to do these all the time with the others."

"it does. God, I missed this."

they came to a stop, getting dressed.

"let me tell you something about Bia and Cedric. I don't claim to be the best at love or anything, so it might not be the best advice, but she clearly has your heart in the palm of her hand. obviously since she's your destined mate. do what you can to get her. if Cedric is playing dirty, play right back with him. I don't think he has the balls to hurt you since Bia clearly loves you back. even though she's with him."

Angel laughed. Saturn was definitely the energy that he needed in his life, and he couldn't have had better timing. if Saturn hadn't come along, Angel didn't doubt that he would've spiraled into an indefinite depression that he wasn't sure he would be able to come out of.

now it was time to start playing some hard ball.
