We were back in the sewers, and Leo told Splinter everything that happened. Including the fact that Mikey had seizures. He was acting a bit weird now, meditating while we were waiting for Mikey to wake up. We even tried pepperoni pizza and it didn't work. That ALWAYS works! Donnie said it might take some time for him to wake up, so while he was doing research on his computer, Leo and I took turns watching him. I noticed his eyes twitch and wondered if he was waking up.
"Mikey? Can you hear me? If you can't, I have a secret to tell you. Shouting Booyahkasha is actually really fun."
"Did that actually work?" I looked up at Leo and back at Mikey.
"No. I think he's asleep still."
"Do you want to go get some sleep? I'll let you know if he wakes up."
"I'm not that tired. I'm more worried. What did Splinter have to say?"
"For once, nothing helpful. Donnie said seizures are the result of overstimulated brain activity, but Sensei said that in his experience, this is just a temporary condition that's caused by laziness. He says we should push Mikey to try harder once he wakes up. And even punish him when this happens."
"But Donnie said this could be permanent. And do I really have to remind you that even the Shredder let us go to take care of him? He would have killed us if he wasn't concerned about Mikey like we were. It's like we're in dimension X again except the only one who can actually make sense of this is asleep."
"I know Raph, but let's just handle this one step at a time. I'll get a snack for both of us and see how Donnie's doing."
"Hopefully he has more answers. Oh yeah, I asked Casey and April to come down and see if they could help."
"Ok, I'll let D know."
"Come on Mikey. Wake up and I'll tell you another secret?"
"Mmm... you told me a secret already?"
"Mikey! You're awake! Don't scare me like that again, little brother."
"Wait, how did we get back to the lair? Where's Shredder? What happened?" He sounded confused and a bit out of it, if I'm being honest. He even looked ready to go back to sleep.
"How much do you remember?"
"Karai brought me pizza after Pound Dog chained me to the wall. I thought Shredder was going to kill me at first. Then he told me that I was sick, and that he used to have sezers as well." I chuckled, and helped him sit up so I could sit next to him.
"I think you mean seizures, Mikey." He wasn't looking at me. Or at Leo when he came out of the kitchen with pizza for all of us. Not even Splinter, really, when he noticed him awake and eating.
"Michelangelo, you put your brothers in a very difficult situation because of your poor behavior today."
"Sensei, this probably isn't the best time for this." I grumbled angrily.
"Really, Raphael, then how would you describe the situation you were in with the Shredder?"
"He let us go! He literally gave us the keys to unchain Mikey and let us go! Sensei, I don't care what you think, Mikey is sick and needs to recover and he didn't have bad behavior, he was just shaking and scar—" I shut up quickly. Mikey didn't need to know that he just about scared me out of my shell.
"That is a condition born out of pure laziness. The Shredder had it as a child too, and took advantage of it."
"Master Splinter, seizures are a more common occurrence than people once thought." I looked over and saw April and Casey with pizza gyoza.
