Chapter 14

Recap : "Yeonjun? What is he doing here?!"

THIRD PERSON'S POV:
As Yeji saw Yeonjun, she decided to go towards him. She knocked on the window of his car making Yeonjun slide the window down with surprised expressions.

"What are you doing here?"
Yeji asked and Yeonjun suddenly was at the loss of words

"Uh, I-I I was just g-going by here so-"
Yeonjun stopped in mid sentence and closed his eyes and took a deep inhale making Yeji confused.

"I came here to pick you up as you're also going for your practice."
He said the truth and there was a silence for one hot minute and Yeji processed what Yeonjun said making shocked expressions dramatically.

"What?!"
Yeji said in disbelief and Yeonjun nodded with a clueless face melting Yeji as he looked really cute at that moment.

"Oh well, let's go then!"
She said and happily sat on passenger seat.

"So, tell me something about yourself!"
Yeonjun decided to initiate a conversation making Yeji even more surprised.

"Is he high? Why is he acting like this?"
Yeji thought to herself and smiled at Yeonjun.

"I'm from Wansan-gu, I live in a joint family. My grandparents, parents, uncle, aunt, and their son Daehyun and my aunt's younger sister Arin, she's a year older than me."
Yeji said and Yeonjun smiled at her.

"Wow, I want to meet your family now!"
Yeonjun said and while chatting, they both reached the university's ground. Yeonjun went towards the basketball court while Yeji went towards the volleyball net where the four girls were chatting. Yeji joined them too until they heard a voice, it was their coach, Ahn Hyejin coming towards them with a girl beside them.

"Girls, meet the new member of your team! she's in the place of Yoora."
Ahn Hyejin said and the girl passed them a smile. Yeji felt like the girl didn't seem to be happy.

"Hi, I'm Nandini, nice to meet you all!"
The girl with honey brown skin and short hair introduced herself. Lookwise, she didn't seem korean but it was her fluency in the language.

"Are you from India by any chance?"
Ryujin asked and Nandini nodded.

"Yes, I moved to Korea when I was ten."
She replied with a smile.

Meanwhile, Yeonjun looked at the three players in front of him with his coach.

"Soobin, Taehyun and Kai."
Yeonjun said their names and looked at the coach.

"We need another player."
He said to the coach who nodded.

"Fifth player, Junwon Kim, he will he here in no time."
The coach said making Yeonjun and Soobin look at him in disbelief.

"I'm sorry, who?"
Yeonjun again asked th coach, trying to clarify.

"Junwo- oh look! He's here!"
The coach pointed at a guy coming towards them with a devilish smirk in the basketball court.

Yeonjun was glaring at Junwon who stood in front of him with a smirk.

"Yeonjun, this is Junwon Kim, he'll play as a front player."
The coach said but Yeonjun looked like he didn't hear a single word coach said.

"Want to play a one on one match, captain?"
Junwon asked Yeonjun while raising his brows to which Yeonjun nodded.

The ball was in Yeonjun's hands and within a second, Junwon took the ball from him effortlessly scoring a basket.

"Looks like you've become weak, captain!"
Junwon taunted after scoring the basket. He had a smirk on his face.

Now, Yeonjun had a smirk on his face as he scored the rest three baskets effortlessly.

"Looks like you've gained overconfidence, front player!"
Yeonjun said with the same expressions Junwon had earlier. Junwon could just glare at him in anger.

Meanwhile, the girls were practicing to hit the ball while the coach was passing the volleyball to each player. Yeji saw Nandini struggling to jump in time when the volleyball came towards her.

"Nandini, what's wrong?! Focus!"
Ms. Ahn Hyejin yelled but she couldn't focus on one thing.

"Okay, a break!"
The coach announced and the girls scattered while Nandini sat on the ground burying her face in her hands. Yeji sat with her putting her hand on her shoulder and got surprised to see her crying.

"What's wrong?"
Yeji asked but Nandini just shook her head.

"You're crying because you're not able to hit the ball? Don't worry, you'll surely do better!"
Yeji tried to reassure but Nandini's cries became louder and the other girls surrounded them too making Nandini even more uncomfortable which Yeji noticed too.

"What's wrong?"
They asked but Yeji signalled them to not surround her and they all went back to their places again.

"It's not about volleyball."
Nandini confessed.

"What is it then?"
Yeji asked again to which Nandini took a deep breath.

"Actually, there's this guy whom I used to date, he said that he's going to leak all my pictures which he took without my permission if I don't marry him."
Nandini explained her situation making Yeji widen her eyes in surprise.

"What?! You didn't tell your parents about it?"
Yeji asked her but she shook her head.

"I can't, it isn't as easy as it seems! Plus, they don't even know that I dated him and he's using it as an advantage!"
Nandini explained and now Yeji understood everything. A thing suddenly struck her and she looked at the basketball court and looked at Nandini again.

"Do you have his number?"
Yeji asked to which she nodded. She made Nandini stand up and went towards the coach.

"Coach, can we leave early, we have an important work to do!"
Yeji asked and the coach nodded.

"Fine, but come early tomorrow!"
She said and hearing that, Yeji held Nandini's hand and started walking towards the basketball court where the boys were packing up and some were drinking water.

"Where are we going?"
Nandini asked Yeji who didn't reply to it. At last, she stopped in front of Soobin and Yeonjun who were looking at them in surprise.

"Yeji? What are you doing here? And who's this?"
Soobin asked but instead of introducing the girl, Yeji went straight to the point.

"Soobin, we need your help!"
