As Zephyre's lifeless body slumped to the floor, Zeni's scream of horror filled the air. Tears welled in her eyes as she covered her ears with trembling hands, unable to process the gruesome sight.

Blood trickled from Zephyre's head while the soldier who had shot him, approached his dead body and callously yanked his hair to inspect his face. "This is the scientist Dwight was looking for? I thought we were after an extraterrestrial being. Bastard went down with a single shot," the soldier chuckled, releasing Zephyre's head with a dismissive shrug.

Desperate, Zeni cradled Zephyre's dead body, sobbing uncontrollably. She was confused why they needed to kill him when the situation was coming to a plateau of understanding.

"Sir, was that really necessary? If Commander Dwight finds out..." one soldier cautioned.

"You told me this was the alien we were after, right? How am I supposed to know that it would die easily?!" the troop leader snapped back. "Isn't this the Edevane guy? Isn't he supposed to—"

Before he could finish, a massive bluish-gray hand had already wrapped his neck, squeezing it tightly. The troop leader's face turned a bluish hue as he struggled to breathe.

The soldiers swiftly aimed their guns at the towering six-foot humanoid, the Nexus Dwelling monster, now in front of them. It let out a deafening screech before tearing into the leader's head, tossing the mutilated body aside.

The soldiers fired desperately at the creature. But surprisingly, instead of saving itself, its first priority was to protect Zeni. It enveloped her in its broad arms and swiftly carried her away to safety, fleeing into the fields outside of her house.

After making sure she was going to be safe from harm, it went back to the soldiers, decimating their lives with ruthless efficiency. Blood splattered in every direction, limbs were torn apart, and the air was filled with a cacophony of screams and gunfire that shattered the night's silence.

Zeni sat in the middle of the field, stunned and overwhelmed. Her mind raced with confusion as she witnessed Zephyre's transformation. Her thoughts churned as she stared blankly at nothing. From the soldiers' conversation, they mentioned the name Edevane and referred to him as a 'monster.' Was Zephyre the one they're referring to? Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted when she felt a hand grip her shoulder. It was her brother.

"I heard the gunshots and came running as fast as I could. Where's Zephyre?!" Shier asked, his voice urgent and worried.

She was at a loss for words. She could only gesture towards their house, a silent indication of the horrors that had unfolded.

Shier's gaze followed her direction, and his face turned ashen as he saw the silhouette of a six-foot-tall creature inside their home, devouring the fallen soldiers. He dropped to the ground and pulled Zeni into a protective embrace. "What the hell is that... and where's Zephyre?"

Zeni hesitated, struggling to find the right words. "Shier, Zephyre is—"

Just then, the commotion inside the house ceased. The alien monster emerged out of the door, covered in blood and gore, approaching the siblings.
