It Was Never Supposed To Happen

Dom's POV:

Rhea had messaged me, she told me that Marnie had been concerned and wanted me to give her a call. I sat in my hotel room debating it for a long time, then I slowly typed out her phone number in the keypad. I just sat staring at the number she had completely thrown my head in a spin today when she accidentally touched me down there. But Roman came to see her they....they have to be something right? I mean if they were just friends he wouldn't have given me such a dirty look. I pressed the call button and put my phone to my ear I hadn't realised how late it was until I heard a sleepy voice and I could just imagine the way she looked right now.

"h-hello?" her voice was thick with sleep and I couldn't help the smile "Uh hey it's Dom, Rhea asked me to give you a call and said you were concerned or something?" I could hear her shifting which made me assume she was sitting up "Oh yeah...yeah it just Roman kinda interrupted the designing time we had and I just wanted to make sure you weren't upset with me." I couldn't help but grin to myself hearing her little rant. "hey, hey I'm fine I just would never have made those jokes if I knew you had a boyfriend." I rubbed the back of my neck sighing when the loudest and may I just say cutest laugh came through the phone "Oh my god that's disgusting he's not my boyfriend he's my brother and for the record I'm single"

I sat with my mouth hung open "Oh brother? I didn't know he had a sister and oh-" At that moment it occurred to me why Solo went so brutal during our match, she's his little cousin. This great big grin appeared on my face as I got that confidence with her back "Does this mean I have a chance?" I could just imagine the face she pulled from the comment which probably had startled her...

Marnie's POV:

I was shocked by the sheer confidence of the man. "w-well I... I won't say no but I don't know if I have the time for relationships now?" In all honesty, he is definitely my type but I'm not that confident so why is he interested? not only that but I was getting my daughter back tomorrow. "what hotel are you staying in?" I told him not seeing a reason to lie, and he then chuckled. "wow so many things in common" shit. he was trying to wind me up and I knew it "Maybe I could come visit you in that room of yours? All I need is the number." as shy as I am I saw this as an opportunity to work on my confidence and get a little payback. I tried my best to put on a seductive voice "And...if I gave you my room number what would I get?" I felt like my brain was going to explode. "I uh well uh..." I let out a laugh hearing his response be so flustered. "night Dom" I giggled hanging up the phone before getting up to grab a glass of water, I think this is the start of something good and I need good in my life. I was getting my daughter back and Dom was making me happy.

The next day I woke up stretching and the realisation set in. I didn't know what time Julia was getting here with Natia. I jumped out of bed and hopped in the shower I then put on a pair of black jeans and a crop top along with a denim jacket I stole from my brother I pulled my hair into a ponytail and called Roman. "hey do you know what time they will be here?" Anxiety dripped from my words. "hey they will be here in 10 I'll meet you in the lobby" I nodded "Okay" I hung up and made my way to the lobby. I paced as I waited for Roman to join me. 

Roman didn't make me wait long and was followed by Jimmy and Jey "Hey guys thank you for being here" I gave each of them a hug. I turned around and saw them walking in together Julia and Natia. Tears filled my eyes I got down so I would be on Natia's level. She saw me and walked over "Mama?" She recognised Marnie from pictures. I nodded and opened my arms "Yeah I'm your mama" Natia hugged me and started crying. I held her close lifting her up and rubbing her back "Oh my gosh you've gotten so big and look at that you have your uncle's hair" I sniffled as I looked at her a big mop of dark curls sat on her head. Roman chuckled from behind me. I realised Becky and Rhea noticed the commotion and came over.

A huge smile was stuck to my face as I walked over to Becky and Rhea. "Natia meet your Auntie Becky and Auntie Demi" Becky quickly pieced it together and smiled at her. "Hi, Natia you look just like your mum dontcha?" Natia giggled and looked at Becky "Pretty hair" Natia pointed at Becky's hair. I laughed and looked at Rhea who stepped forward "Hey Natia, you have your uncle Roman's hair" she ruffled Natia's hair making her giggle "Pretty!" I shrugged "Even my daughter has good taste in women" I teased "Hey Natia do you want to come to work with me?"

I watched my daughter's face light up "Yeah mama!" I kissed the top of her head "Okay baby" I looked over to Julia and gave her my number "Call me okay she's your niece you ever wanna see her call me" Julia hugged me and I reciprocated I knew she had to be going through a lot. I got my phone out and called Dom "Hey, I'm gonna be at the stadium soon and we can work on your new gear" I could hear doms smile through the phone "Okay see you soon" he hung up and I looked at Natia "ready to go, baby?" Natia nodded and got down. She walked over to Becky and Rhea hugging their legs before coming back to me and holding my hand.

After a short drive, we were at the stadium. I went with Natia to my little room and set my bag down. I watched as Natia took off her little coat and set it next to my bag "Getting hot baby?" she nodded "Uh huh!" I smiled and sat down "What do you want for lunch?" I smiled softly as she climbed into my lap. "CHICKEN TENDIES!" she yelled at the top of her lungs I laughed "Okay let me make a call" I grabbed my phone and once again called Dom "Hey what's up?" I smiled "Hey um can you bring a decent amount of chicken tenders with you please?" Dom laughed "Okay sure anything else?" I looked at Natia thinking about what she would drink then decided "A juice box?" I giggled when I heard him laugh "Yeah okay, okay I'll be there soon."

I looked down at my daughter as she started looking at my sketches for designs. I was so happy to have her back. an hour later there was a knock at the door. Natia was sitting on the little couch in the room drawing. "come in" I called out looking towards the door. Dominik walked in with the chicken tenders, a juice box and a couple of sodas "I bring chicken tenders" he grinned. Natia shot up "Chicken tendies?" Dom looked at Natia then Marnie "Who is this?" he set the stuff down. "my daughter Natia, Natia this is Dominik Mysterio" Natia walked over to Dom and grinned up at him "You tall" I laughed and watched as Dom crouched to her level "better?" Natia nodded and started playing with Dom's hair "I like" she giggled then made grabby hands wanting to be picked up. dom quickly looked at me and I nodded giving him the go-ahead. Dom carefully picked her up. She giggled and held on to him "So high!" I laughed watching them. "come sit down I have some designs to show you that I sketched out." Dom walked over and sat down, Natia getting comfortable in his lap. I smiled and handed her a chicken tendie and the juice box and she started eating. I then proceeded to show Dom the designs I had made. Most of them featured rheas nickname Mami on them. I watched as he shoved a chicken tendie in his own mouth. "they look really good marnie" he grinned at me and I felt like my heart skipped a beat.

Dom didn't have anything for a few hours so he stayed with us while we ate lunch and Natia hadn't moved from his lap, she was quite content where she was and that made me happy. Natia ended up falling asleep in doms arms. "she likes you" I smiled softly at dom. he looked at me with his signature grin. "I'm glad, shes a sweet girl. Is she coming to texas with you?" I nodded "yeah I don't want to be away from her" I gently stroked her hair. "hey dom are you able to stick around for a bit longer, I need to do some repairs and I have a feeling if you put her down she will wake straight up" Dom checked the time "sure I'm not needed anywhere until me and the guys have to film some promo" I nodded "thank you, honestly you are a life saver." I got on with the repairs as dom got comfortable on the couch. After a little while I looked up to check on the pair and saw them both asleep. I was happy they were getting along. I grabbed my phone and took a picture sending it to rhea.

m: guess Natia has a favourite and its not me :(

r: oh my god! she looks so adorable and look at dom, I haven't seen him look so peaceful in a long time!

m: guess what demi?

r: what??

m: Natia is coming to texas

r: awesome! ill come by to get dom before the promo!

m: K bye!

I set my phone down and looked over at Dom and Natia again. As i watched them i realised i was falling for dom...
