We were on our way back from the drive in, but I was a bit sad because I purposely asked Jeremiah to pinky promise me that we wouldn't start anything but he still went with it, and he didn't know I crossed my fingers behind my back. I know he still likes Belly, and I don't think he'll ever get over her, she's everything and more to him. When we got back to the house I saw Laurels car pulled into the driveway "What the hell?" He said " Isn't that laurels car?" He asked "Yea, we're in deep shit." I scoffed When we walked into the house, we heard Belly and Laurel arguing, then Laurel slapped Belly. I could tell by the silence after Laurel didn't mean it, but Belly did say some horrible things to her. Belly ran down the stairs in the backyard and sat with her feet in the pool. " I'll go check on her." He said " Ok" I replied I saw Laurel in Belly's room picking up clothes and putting them into a bag. "Laurel. She didn't mean it." I said She turned to me with tears in her face. " I just don't know what to do anymore, Susannah's not here, the house is getting sold, and now this. I just don't have time for this right now." She cried "Belly just grieving, we all are, but it still doesn't give her an excuse for what she said. She just needs to know her mom is still there for her." I said She lifted her head up to hold back more tears but began to cry more and walked in and gave me a hug. "I'm gonna go apologize to her, I really needed to hear that, thank you " She said I walked back to my room and closed the door, and opened the blinds to open the window because it was hot , and I saw Jere sitting next to Belly by the pool with his legs in the water. I open the window to hear. " Belly I think we should go home, we tried there's nothing we can do anymore." He said " No, we can't give up on her house." She said " Belly." He said She turned to him and it looked like they were about to kiss, but Laurel came out to apologize to Belly. "Belly, can we speak." Laurel said I closed the window, sat on my bed trying to hold back tears, but I just put on pajamas sat in my bed, and I tried to read but I couldn't stop myself from crying my book was soaked from tears. I took out my phone and called my mom. " Mom?" I cried " Hey honey, what's wrong you sound sad." She said " Everything is going wrong mom, their gonna lose the house, and Jeremiah-" I said " What about Jeremiah?" " Mom, just— I miss you." I said " i miss you too, me and dad were thinking about fly you over to Paris for the rest of the Summer since your not spending the whole summer, do you wanna come?" She asked " When?" I asked " 3 days, is the earliest." She said " I don't know I think about it." " Ok, but let me know by tomorrow afternoon, I talk to you later honey, I love you."she said "I love you too, I tell dad said hi." I after I hung up with my mom, Jeremiah knocked on my door " Come in." I said " Just came to say goodnight, and Laurel agreed to help us save my mom's house." He said " Really?" Said happily I jumped up and gave him a hug and he picked me up and span me around, when he put me down we were staring at each for what seemed like an eternity, he grabbed my face and whispered into my ear. " We pinky promised remember princess, goodnight." He whispered He walked out of my room and turned around and smiled at me.
