Isagi Yoichi knew what he wanted to be when he grew up since he was young. The best soccer player the world had ever known. He always looked up to his older brothers, Rankano and Ayato, because they were also upcoming stars as well. Whenever he got a chance to practice and learn with them, he loved every single second of it because of his strong connection to soccer. His two older brothers were his icons and he wished to learn more and more, day by day.
It was a sunny Friday and Isagi's older brothers were looking forward to an upcoming game they had. They were extra excited because they were playing in a newly built stadium that was very modern compared to the other ones they usually played on.
"We have to give it our all this game Ayato! If we win, we could have a chance at getting a scholarship to go play with the professionals!" Rakano said to Ayato as he was putting on his soccer gear.
"I will do my best!" Replied Ayato as he was taking a sip of water.
"I hope you do well on your game, guys!" Isagi said with excitement. "When you're down with the game, can we both practice outside so I can learn some more of your tricks, Ayato?" Isagi asked.
"Yo, I can't promise that because I have to rest my knees for a little while after I play, so they will stay in shape. Maybe tomorrow?" Isagi looked down and then asked his other brother Rakano if he would be able to.
"Sure! I mean, who could say no to playing some extra soccer after winning a game! I just know we're gonna win!"Isagi and his older brothers arrived at Lunar Arena and they started to warm up.
"Pass over here!" Ayato yelled to one of his teammates and they scored a practice shoot.
Isagi was always watching and recording from the side, analyzing their plays and how he could recreate them. It was time for the game to start and everyone on the team got in their positions and waited for the referee to blow the whistle. The game was hard, the opposing team was rough, and the heat was taking a toll on their stamina.
"Just pass the ball to me for once!" Someone on the team yelled.
"I was trying to, but I couldn't see you!"
"Then look up and pay more attention!"Sooner than later, a fight broke out and the referee had to break it up. The team was starting to fall apart, and fewer people started to work together. Before they knew it, it was half-time and as they were walking over to get a sip of water, people on the team heard lots of commotion coming from the crowd.
"Hey do you see that?" One person asked.
"It is just me or is that...dust coming from the roof?" Another person asked in reply.Everyone looked up and froze as they saw the roof suddenly start to collapse. In a panic, everyone started to run for their lives.
"YOICHI! GET OUT OF HERE, NOW!" Yelled Rakano.
Isagi was shocked and out of fear, he ran without even thinking about his brothers. Everyone in the stadium was running as fast as they could to get out of there. The stadium had completely collapsed and most of the people were out including Ayato, but then Isagi realized that Rakano wasn't there. Isagis eyes widened. He immediately ran into the debris and yelled his brother's name in hopes of finding him.
"RAKANO! RAKANO, WHERE ARE YOU?!" Isagi then heard something. It sounded like...coughing? "Rakano?! Where are you, say something!" Isagi started to move the rubble around and looked for another 10 minutes until he found him.
"Oh my gosh, Rakano!" Isagi cried. Someone had called 911 and ambulances were already there. "HEY! OVER HERE! I NEED HELP OVER HERE!" cried Isagi more. The ambulance picked his brother up and took him to the hospital.
While in the hospital, he had trouble breathing and it turns out he had a collapsed lung. He immediately went into surgery and he was stable, but there was one thing the doctor hadn't told them yet. He went in to get some X-rays of his knee because he was saying that it hurt. It turns out, he had torn his ACL really bad, and he wouldn't be able to play soccer competitively ever again.
Rakano was heartbroken. Isagi and Ayato were distraught.
"Are you okay Rakano?" Isagi said under his breath.
"Yeah. I'm fine Yoichi. Don't worry about me," Rakano said as he covered his face trying his best not to cry.
"Are we still gonna play soccer tomorrow?" Isagi asked. Rakano didn't say anything and just looked down at the hospital sheets in sorrow.***
That was 5 years ago. 5 years since Ayato decided to pursue his dream alone. Rakano didn't want Ayato to waste his chance, and wanted him to learn more in France. He finally obeyed 2 years ago.
'It's been a while since either of them contacted me. Bluelock really does isolate you from the outside world,' Isagi said to himself.
He was in the shower room after the match against World 5. He was exhausted, much unlike his opponents. They were skilled indeed. Isagi wanted to be like them. He wanted that strength to devour them.
"You have ambitious thoughts. I like it," a familiar voice called.
"Eh? Loki? What are you doing here? And sorry for rambling loudly," Isagi looked at the France Prodigy.
"It's fine. This is a public shower room, so wouldn't it be normal for me to be here?" He quickly made himself comfortable.Silence. An awkward one too.
"Isagi Yoichi, no? Who were 'the two' that you said earlier?"
Isagi wondered how much Loki heard, and how loud he rambled before answering.
"They're my brothers. Isagi Rakano and Isagi Ayato. Rakano... He was an amazing and quite famous soccer player. Unfortunately, he severely tormed his ACL during the Lunar Arena tragedy. And Ayato is currently aiming for his soccer scholarship in France."
Ah, that's right. After that tragedy, a rematch was held elsewhere. Ayato's team won by a score of 3-1. They won the scholarship.
At the time, Ayato didn't favor the idea of leaving Rakano behind. So he was the last to depart, 3 years later, after Rakano forced him to.
"I see. I know about the Lunar Arena tragedy, and I'm sorry to hear that," Loki said.
Isagi nodded as a reply. He was done showering, and said goodbye to Loki, slightly bowing down.
"Come on, you Japanese people are so formal. No need to bow down," Loki chuckled and left.

The France Prodigy walked into a luxurious hotel room, not far from the Bluelock facility. He took off his shoes and leaped straight to bed.
"Hey, Loki. Take off your socks before heading to bed."
"I'm taking them off now, Leonardo," Loki sat up.
"Loki, what took you so long?" Cavasoz asked, drying his poofy hair.
"I had a talk with Isagi Yoichi. The guy from our first match."
"Eh, I don't remember. The only one I remember is that Rin guy," Cavasoz shrugged.
"Anything interesting happened?" Leonardo sat beside Loki.Loki nodded in reply, and told the two about his conversation. Leonardo looked a bit shocked when he heard the name 'Isagi Ayato'.
"THE Ayato? The one that's been hitting the spotlight in France's soccer?"
"Yes. I was surprised to hear it too. But he didn't seem to want to talk about it anymore, so I just walked away."
"Shouldn't he have great abilities and skills too, as his younger brother?" Leonardo asked.
"You compare people to their siblings too much. You did that to Itoshi Rin too," Loki rolled his eyes."But I personally think that he has never showed his true skills to anyone. Whatever the reason is, I sensed in our match that he felt scared. Not scared of our power, but by the possibility that he might be forced to finally show his true power."
"Heyyy, what are you guys talking about? I don't understand a thing!" Cavasoz pouted in all seriousness.
