PERCY JACKSON ABSOLUTELY positively, without doubt, drooled in his sleep. There was a small puddle situated just beside his head, and Adeleine couldn't help but wonder if she should get a sharpie. Apparently, not that anyone bothered to tell her, Percy had arrived just short after midnight, completely injured, carrying Grover. She had only noticed him a few hours ago when she was walking into the infirmary for a new pack of bandages.
Annabeth would feed him most of the time, but Adeleine stayed by his side while Grover convened with the Council. There wasn't much to look at (it was after-all, just Percy) but she decided to draw her surroundings. She started sketching the windowsill just above Percy's head, and even the small cracks within the window. Eventually however, she got bored of just the window, and gave in to perfecting her figure drawings. He was in a Camp Half-Blood shirt, and was covered by the bed's blankets. His messy dark hair was even more messy, if that was possible, and every time he came around he had a sort of droopy look in his eyes.
"Is our sleeping beauty up yet?" Lee mused the minute he walked into the infirmary. He had been doing constant checkups on Percy every now and then.
"Not yet, but he's sure to come around soon," Adeleine said, only ever moving her eyes from her drawing to look at Percy's figure and his face shape.
Lee let out a low whistle, and it was then that Adeleine realized that he was right behind her. "Don't let the Stolls see you with that."
Adeleine rolled her eyes at the mention of the brothers. They had been annoying her ever since they got to camp, and more so when they found out that Percy was a he.
Suddenly, just as she was going to make a snide remark at Lee, a low noise was made from Percy. It was a word mix between a gurgling and a word. 'Mom.' Adeleine almost flinched at the thought of Sally Jackson, the sweet lady she'd only met once, being gone.
Adeleine shared a glance with Lee, and they both mutually agreed on taking him back to the Big House, when he'd adjust better to his surroundings.
When Percy finally came around for good, Adeleine had almost finished her drawing, only missing the subtle details of his face. He was yet to notice her, when he reached for the glass of nectar next to him.
He almost dropped the glass, when Adeleine finally spoke, "careful."
Percy turned so hard, it must've given him whiplash. She was leaning casually against the Big House's post, holding a shoe box Grover 'promised' he'd deliver to Percy himself.
"You do know you drool in your sleep, right?" She asked, when she noticed he was still staring at her.
"Yes," his voice was so hoarse, so weak, Adeleine felt the need to comfort him in some way.
