I looked at the doors and for a moment was worried about accidentally going in the same door twice given how many doors there are up here, so I fixed my little thin dress and headed down looking for something I could use to mark the doors I've already been through, I headed to the library with books littering the shelves a fireplace now lit with a large mirror above it, at one end there must have been over five thousand books all cared for and well-loved, a ladder that ran across a silver railing to access the higher books, a piano sat in the middle of the room under the candlelight playing a tune to itself the keys being pressed but no one playing it, I went to the desk still ladened with various items for bookbinding until I found some chalk to carry with me and mark the doors I had been through in my search.

I headed towards the door but for a moment I got curious and ran my hands across the various spines of books reading the titles, in each section. I grabbed a book and saw the title 'One Night,

I took the book to the conservatory room, the seats, rugs and blankets, looking out to the garden, littered with flowers, plants and herbs all being battered by the rain, the rain landing on the glass roof making this calming sweet sound. I sat down and opened the book up to read it,

"I sat on my bed with my headphones on my ears listening to my sweet music, my phone went off so I turned the alarm off and jumped out of bed heading to the oven. I checked on my dinner but I still needed time to reset my alarm and headed back to my bed. But as I headed back through my studio apartment I jumped almost out of my skin as there was a tap on my window.

I went over given the fire escape was at that window maybe someone got locked out or something. I opened up the fire escape window and I was even more shocked

"Huuuuuu! Jake!" I gasped in shock"

"Jake... he's in the story," I muttered,

"but he put a hand over my mouth to stop my yells as he climbed into my apartment in a pair of new blue jeans and a green t-shirt. "What are you doing here?"

"It's a long story" he laughs shutting the window behind him "Ohhh just let me look at you a moment" he cooes holding my face "I've missed you so bad"

"I've missed you too Jake, but what are you doing here you weren't meant to be out on parole till next week"

"I had an early hearing, they weren't going to give me parole even though I did everything they asked, they lied to me. I couldn't wait any longer so I broke out and came to see you"

"Jake! You could get in so much trouble"

"I know, but I couldn't help it. I've been waiting to have you in my arms again for over a year, I had been waiting on the promise all this time, I couldn't not see you"

"Awww Jake that's sweet, how did you get out?"

"I snuck out into the laundry yard and bolted over the wall. I walked all the way here"

"Ohh Jake I love you so much" I smiled nuzzling into his chest

"Aww I love you more than anything"

"But you could get in so much trouble"

"I know, I'll go back tomorrow morning I promise without a fight. Just let me stay with you for one night"
