JUNE 6TH

PERCY pulled out the lighter in his pocket and flicked it on. "I'll go ahead and scope out the next area. If I'm not back in ten minutes, come look for me," he told his friends.

Grover and Tyson looked anxious and Annabeth was looking at him like he was absolutely stupid, but no one said anything which was incredibly odd because usually Annabeth was telling him how much of an idiot he was.

He trudged forward through the endless maze, the fire from his lighter illuminating the tunnels just enough for him to be able to see the outline of his surroundings. His foot hit a loose plate in the floor and a click sounded. Cold water rained down on him, putting out his fire and source of light.

His grip slipped on the lighter and it went tumbling to the ground. He felt around for it with his foot, but couldn't find anything. Of course his clumsy ass dropped the lighter. "Oh fuck my life," he muttered.

He continued on in the pitch black until he ran into something solid. A door. He pushed it open and walked into the room. There were a few torches on the wall that gave him some sort of source of light.

He heard shuffling behind him and he immediately uncapped Riptide. He spun around and swung the sword. It collided with a clatter with another sword. Standing in front of him was a blonde boy. The boys sky-blue eyes met his sea green eyes before he swung his sword at him again. Percy blocked it but not easily. This boy definitely knew how to fight and the way he did so almost seemed... familiar?

Percy managed to maim the blonde boys arm in his next swing. Except he wasn't fast enough to deflect the next blow. The mystery boy aimed for his leg and he felt a jolt of pain shoot up his leg. He half bit back a cry of pain as he crumpled to the floor.

His opponent placed his sword under his chin and pushed it up, urging him to stand slowly. Percy obliged, his face flushing as he did so. He felt mesmerized by the blue-eyed boy. Not many people could beat him in a fight and he had done it like it was nothing. Percy felt an unrecognizable feeling consume him.

Regardless, he wasn't going to give up this easily. He made a poor attempt to attack his opponent again, but the blonde boy just judo flipped him over his head. Percy landed flat on his back with a grunt. The boy hovered over him with the blade of his sword pressed against Percy's throat. He felt himself blush even deeper.

Before the boy could do anything further, a hand grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and yanked him back, pinning him against the wall. It was Annabeth. Grover and Tyson were hovering beside her and she had her dagger pressed to the boys throat. "Who are you?!" She demanded.

"Nikolaos!" The boy chocked out against Annabeth's blade.

Percy limped over to them. "Your fighting is oddly familiar. Why?"

"I don't know, I really don't. I've never met you before. Can you please just tell your friend to remove her dagger? She is sort of choking me," the boy replied frantically.

"Let him go, Annie," Percy told her.

"I will as soon as he drops his sword," Annabeth stated.

Nikolaos tossed his sword and it went skittering across the floor. "There, it's gone. I'm defenseless."
