**Suffering: Part 4 - Blending Hearts and Lives**
In the aftermath of a fierce battle that left the wizarding world forever changed, you return to Hogwarts as the Potions Mistress, determined to rebuild your life alongside your husband, Severus Snap...
“Hello, Daddy,” Y/N said cheerfully as she walked in pushing the girls in their pram. Severus had been waiting near the door as she walked in, “You seem in a better mood,” he said curiously
“My morning goes much better when I have my girls. Almost as if I knew it would and that’s why I was insisting,” she smiled back at him. Severus looked over the sleeping girls before letting out a “hmm” sound.
“I just fed them and got them to sleep. We have time if you wish to use me,” she smiled up at him. “I’m not sure you deserve it. You were quite contrary this morning, Princess,” he said with a still annoyed look on his face.
“Suit yourself,” she replied as she walked over to the table sitting down for lunch. Severus came and sat opposite of her to eat his own lunch. It was rather quiet until Y/N asked, “Can I read my book if we aren’t going to talk? This silence is deafening,” she asked.

“I’m waiting for the apology you owe me for this morning,” he replied with a long annoyed blink. “What would I be apologizing for? I didn’t do anything wrong,” she chuckled. “Your attitude of course,” he hissed back at her.
Y/N raised her eyebrow at his words, shaking her head a bit, “I won’t be apologizing. I didn’t do anything wrong,” she replied.
“Is that how it’s going to be now? You simply talk back to me whenever you wish?” he said in his deep scary drawl.
“I didn’t talk back to you. I stood up for myself. I see we have a difference of opinions on what transpired this morning. When it comes to the girls, I will no longer be backing down,” she remarked as she sat back in her chair.
Her words were obviously having a negative effect on the man as he sat back staring at her. “I own you, unless it has escaped your mind again,” he said blankly.
“But not them. You don’t get to control how I interact with the girls. I guess we should have laid all this out on the line before they got here. I’m done putting them down because you think I should,” she responded confidently.
“You will do as you’re told, Princess. I’ll make sure of it,” he said in an aggravated tone. Y/N just ignored him and went back to eating her lunch, unaffected by his words. “I knew you would do this,” he sneered in anger.
“Stand up for myself or disobey you? Which am I doing? Perhaps you should stop being such a bully all the time,” she offered.
Severus inhaled in and out before, saying in a scary calm voice, “I know that did not fall out of your lips. You have three seconds to apologize,” he said as he rose, leaning over the table in anger.
“Did you learn that from your father as well? How to bully people until you get your way,” she asked as she looked up into his eyes. “Unforgivable,” he sneered back at her before walking away from the table.
“Simply a question. You’re behaving like a child right now who isn’t getting his way. If you yell and raise your voice enough, you think you will get your lollipop,” she huffed back at him.
“What has gotten into you? You never speak to me this way. I won’t stand for it,” he said with a raised voice.

“I will be your wife but I am done being controlled in the way you wish. Perhaps it’s time we start our therapy again. You don’t get to control my relationship with the girls. What you did the other night, that was unforgivable. I tried to let it go, but I cannot. You could have stopped at any point but you refused. You’re right, that wasn’t love,” she spat back at him.
Severus turned his back as if not to look at her, “I apologized and you said you were over it,” he remarked through his frustration.
“I hadn’t even processed it yet. I had locked it away in my head because it was terrible. You will never touch me like that again,” she said calmly.
“I said I wouldn’t,” he spat back at her. “I’ll make sure of it,” she reassured him. Severus walked over to the girls, as if he were taking them somewhere.
“If you insist on taking them now, you may bring them to me when it’s time to feed,” she told him before he left. “You will get them back when I am ready to bring them. I have bottles to feed them,” he huffed.
“I promise, this isn’t a game you want to play with me,” is the last thing she said as he walked out the door with the pram.
