Kris got chills down his spine as he set one paw on the ground of the maze. The air felt heavy, filled with a sense of unease that hung in the atmosphere. "I think the red force is behind all this," Kris suddenly said, his voice tinged with concern. Thunder and Hourglass turned their backs to him, their expressions masked with doubt. "What?" Hourglass asked, his voice trailing with uncertainty. Kris took a deep breath, gathering his courage. "You heard me correctly," he said, his voice steady. "I'm not going back in." "You've gotten stuck?" Thunder asked, his voice laced with surprise. Kris shook his head slowly. "It's not just that," he replied. "There's a one-hour timer. If we don't make it out in time, the maze's invisible walls will shift into different places, trapping us inside." A cold silence descended upon them as Thunder and Hourglass absorbed Kris's words. The weight of the situation settled on their shoulders, and their hearts pounded in their chests. They had underestimated the challenges that lay ahead. "I forgot about the one-hour timer," Thunder finally admitted, his voice filled with regret. Without wasting another moment, Hourglass dashed out of the maze's entrance as fast as his legs could carry him. Thunder quickly followed suit, determination etched on his face. Kris, keeping his wits about him, took to the sky, intending to investigate the maze from above. Soaring high above the bewildering labyrinth, Kris marveled at its structure. It wasn't a conventional square or circular shape; instead, it had the form of a hexagon. As Kris flew closer, he noticed a peculiar marking in the center of the maze—it spelled out the word 'exo' in bold, mysterious letters. His curiosity piqued, Kris dove down, aiming to share his findings with Thunder and Hourglass as soon as possible. Landing gracefully beside Thunder, he couldn't help but relay the newfound information with a mix of excitement and trepidation. "Kris, what did you find?" Thunder questioned eagerly, his eyes filled with anticipation. Taking a moment to catch his breath, Kris responded, "The maze is hexagon-shaped, unlike anything we have encountered before. And in the middle, right where we started, there's a word—'exo'." Thunder and Hourglass exchanged glances, their minds racing with possible interpretations of this cryptic message. Could it hold the key to escaping the maze? Or did it simply serve as a distraction from the true dangers lurking within?
