*May 1st* *Tyler's house | Tyler's bedroom* *9:30 am*
I sit in my room shuffling through all the letters Steve sent me. My favorite letter he sent so far is the one for my 27th birthday. Feels weird being twenty-seven now. I miss Will too, she just left for work. She promises when she comes back, we can see a movie... I guess it will make up for it. I check the porch for mail and see a bunch of new things. I rush through it all and find a brand-new letter from Steve. I drop everything off on my dining room table before sitting on the couch and opening Steve's letter.
"Hi Tyler, I know I never make serious letters, but I really need your help again. Grandma is sick and she can't cook and clean like she used to. She was going to the doctors, and she won't tell me what they been saying. I miss the old her man... please I need all the help I can get. She doesn't like talking no more. Make it quick Tyler, I need you more than ever. I have nobody else to ask for help."
Fuck... Guess I'm going to North Carolina... Another knock at the door? I walk over to the front door and open it.
"Frank?! How did you find where I live?"
"I followed you."
He walks past me and sits on my couch.
"What are you doing here?"
"Where's Steve? I haven't talked to him since the funeral."
"He's in the south, remember?"
"Fuck you're right."
"You want to see him again?"
"Of course."
"We have to make a long trip to see him."
"Yeah, I know. Please don't tell me we are driving."
"Hell no, I'll buy us a ticket."
"That's what's up. I would buy my own, but I'm still saving up more money."
"Where you work now?"
"I'm a manager at this Restuarant."
"Amazing news. Just going to keep upgrading?"
"Pretty much."
"I'm happy to see you're doing good Frank."
"Me too. So, when are we leaving?"
"The note was urgent, so we need to catch the earliest plane."
"Please I was just at the airport dropping somebody off uh... Shit we need to leave or get a ticket... The plane leaves tomorrow at Five."
"In the morning?"
"Got that right."
"Fuck okay."
"You ready for this trip? Start packing kid."
"Kid? I just turned twenty-"
"I'm older than you; just be ready I'll be outside waiting."
"You don't have a car though.'
"You right... We have to go to my house to grab my stuff."
"Do you have luggage?"
"Yeah, its stolen."
