I always liked to look up into the sky to imagine a greater existing world. How could something like that occur though? I sighed and got up from the spot I was lying; watching the clouds go by. I went inside the tiny trailer house my mom and I were living in. It was a gorgeous trailer; Golden tile floors framed a wooden interior. The walls were a pearl white and the house itself was furnished with neutral carpet and furniture."Mom?" I asked; knocking on her bedroom door. "Is everything alright?"
She sighed and hung up the phone; she looked at me with worried eyes. "Ivy, we need to talk." She sat me down on her queen sized bed and grabbed my hands.
"Ivy, you have to go to camp." I looked at her puzzled. School isn't even out yet, it's barely the end of April. "You probably think I'm crazy huh." She chuckled but continued. The next day we were on our way to Dallas airport; of course mom drove but to my surprise she said she couldn't go with me. I was going to New York and she couldn't go with me? I mean what could possibly happen that she can't go?
"Ivy, I love you." She stated as I got out of the old blue bug. I smiled and nodded; "I love you too momma." I shut the door and walked into the overly crowded airport. I made my way over to the ticket station and got registered; a sweet old woman came up to me.
"Are you all alone sweetheart?" She asked as she leaned on her cane.
"Yes ma'am, I am going to New York." She smiled the sweetest smile and grabbed my shoulder.
"How convenient, so am I." We made our way to the right station to board the plane.I soon arrived in New York or as I knew it, The Big Apple. The old lady from the airport and I parted ways and I headed toward a small field at the outskirts of the city. I never realized how busy life was in a city until I got here; being in this quiet field all of the sudden is tranquil. I decided to rest for a minute from all this traveling and took a seat in a patch of sunflowers. I smiled and stared up at the sky; I loved to feel the sun on my skin. All of the sudden I felt a sharp pain in my neck and the last thing I saw before passing out was the most gorgeous green eyes. Eyes that reminded me of the evergreen trees.
"Listen to me, I had to do this-" A blonde boy with the most beautiful and luxurious curls echoed through what looked like a forest. "It was the only way to guide them all into this prophecy." he continued and turned straight towards me.
I jolted awake from whatever induced my nightmare. I looked around me- where was I?- to my surprise, I wasn't alone. Those same evergreen eyes had found me.
"Chiron, she's awake." The boy with the eyes said looking towards the curtain, "Should I leave you alone?"
Just then, what appeared to be a man walked from the curtain. I'm sorry I should say trotted; he trotted away. Chiron was a Centaur; I thought that was just a Greek myth.
"No, Miles. I think you should stay," Chiron stated, reaching for my hand, "Ivy, a pleasure to meet you." Chiron smiled a sincere smile, not letting go of my hand. I returned his gesture; after all I was losing my mind.
"Miles. Take Ivy to Mr.D. Show her Hermes' cabin then bring her back here." He instructed. Starting to trot away. "Oh and Ivy, welcome to Camp Half-Blood."I got up from the cot with a nagging pain in my neck; I moved my hand towards the area in pain.
"What did you do, shoot me?" I asked evergreen eyes.
"Yes," He said, handing me my brown combat boots. I quickly laced them up.
"You sure know how to charm a girl."I rolled my eyes and we walked outside of what I think was the infirmary. The moment I stepped outside the sun found me and I raised my arms in a majestic pose; I suddenly felt a boost of energy surge through my body.
"I think we got off on the wrong foot." Evergreen eyes said, looking at me.
"Well, I think so too. Apology accepted." I said and started walking behind him.
"Apology? I wasn't apologizing." He sighed, then completely stopped. "Miles Logan." He shook my hand. Wow, this guy was really forward wasn't he, I guess I should describe him huh. Well, Miles was taller than me and that was a shocker for I was 5 '9, he has a long shaggy brown mullet and as you already know evergreen eyes.
"Ivy Whitmore."
