Now, I am all for running amok in thick dark clouds in damp Jurassic World Docks. It's my favourite thing to do! However, when the said fog was so thick you could slice it with Kenji's butter knife, my enjoyment tended to be limited. Incredibly limited.

"Okay, I'm gonna look this way," Ben said. He waved goodbye with his spear and walked off into the murky darkness.

"Cool. I'm going that way too," Yasmina said. The rest of us nodded, then she walked after Ben.

Now myself, Darius, Kenji, Sammy and Brooklynn were left. We looked between ourselves, engaging in a silent conversation till we reached mutual agreement. As everyone went their separate ways, I took Darius' hand and stopped him.

"We've got to be careful. With the fog and darkness, Kenji's got every opportunity to pull something stupid!" I whispered.

"Good looking out. Once we've found a patch for the boat, we can prank him back," Darius gleefully replied.

"...Once we've found a patch and brainstormed a prank that can work, that is," I said. Darius nodded and then he pointed  left.

"I'm going to look over here."

"And I'll look there," I pointed to the opposite side.

When we left the entrance to the docks, it dawned upon me just how eerie it was.The squelching of my trainers against the damp concrete and my soft breathing were the only sounds to accompany me. I could barely make out anything with a foot in front of me! It was just so dark.

To bring myself some sort of relief as I traipsed through the cargo, I quietly sang the lyrics to an unknown song. It was comforting, but the comfort didn't last long.

I paused.

Near my knee on the cargo were strange marks. Upon closer inspection, I realised they were claw marks. What was stranger was the fact no dinosaurs should be able to access The Northwest docks – this area was meant to be locked.

As I turned to leave, something or someone placed their hand on my shoulder. They were breathing heavily in my ear and I felt the warm air on my ears.

I opened my mouth, about to yell at Kenji for pranking me when we were meant to be finding fuel for the ship. But it wasn't Kenji. The hands that immediately covered my mouth belonged to Darius!

"Darius! That would have been the perfect scare if I was Kenji," I grinned.

I expected to receive a smile or even his iconic goof half-grin, but no. Darius' eyes were wide, his dark pupils were constricted and a single bead of sweat rolled down his face.

"Darius, what's wrong?" I asked, taking his hands.

"Something broke through the fence. I don't know what it is, but we aren't safe. We have to find everyone and get to the boat NOW!"

The scratches I'd found!! Whatever had broken into the docks must have left them – they certainly weren't a friendly herbivore... Mr Universe, just why?

Darius helped me stand,  his hand tightly wrapped around mine.

"Let's go," he said. We quickly walked away from the engraved cargo, our heads whipping left and right at every creak and scuttle.

"Stay close, Kiara. Can you see anyone?" Darius asked.

"No," I shook my head. "I can barely see you."

We continued the dreary journey through the dock's maze. I came up with the brilliant idea to call for everyone every so-and-so distance, that way even if whatever dinosaur was in here, it wouldn't be able to hunt us down quick enough.
