The screen lights up again showcasing a road from above. A black hearse driving through the fall trees on either side.

“Ah. Vermont in fall.” Tyler says, reclining back, a forced look on his face, as if he didn’t mean those words at all.

A staticky radio can be heard playing opera.

The car is then shown to have the license plate ADD4M5 and lots of black luggage strapped to the roof.

“Why am I not surprised her family drives a hearse.” Enid whispers to herself.

Then we cut to the inside to see Wednesday giving her parents a side eyed look of disgust and contempt as her dad sings to her mom.

Her mom gives him a slightly seductive smile as Puglsey rolls his eyes and Lurch collects himself.

Then Morticia joins Gomez in his singing as they get into it. Their hands connect as they sing along to the song. Wednesday watches through her bangs as they continue, eventually shutting her eyes to not have to see it anymore.

Most of the other kids agree with Wednesday. Nobody wants to see their parents like that.

The hearse hits a few crows and Puglsey flinches while everyone else doesn’t even notice.

Their parents are still deeply into the song and even snapping to the beat as they drive down the road, birds flying off the car to lie dead in the road. Three black crows lying dead in the street. A bad luck omen if there ever is one.

“Huh.” Wednesday tilts her head to the side slightly. “Three crows.” Is all she says.

Tyler looks at her with a confused smile. “So? What’s that got to do with anything?” He asks.

“Just one crow means a change is coming. Two crows means good fortune. Three crows… bad luck omen.” Wednesday tells him.

That causes the people sitting around her to swallow thickly. They aren’t prepared for what bad luck means to this girl.

Gomez and Morticia are still singing as they get even closer together before they start kissing aggressively. Wrapped around one another tightly.

“Hey at least your parents love one another.” Enid whispers to Wednesday, not realizing most of the room could hear her.

Tyler, Bianca, and Xaiver all privately agree with the blonde.

They separate after a second revealing Wednesday watching with no discernible emotion. They sit back in their seats and lok at Wednesday watching them.

“Darling,” Morticia starts, “how long do you intend on giving us the cold shoulder?”

Wednesday doesn’t speak to her mother, instead she turns around to talk to Lurch.

“Lurch. Please remind my parents that I am no longer speaking to them.” She tells him at a deadpan, neither upset nor happy.

The kids really cannot believe the audacity of this girl.

Tyler even goes as far as to look at his father at that. Yeah, he thinks, he’d be hit upside the head for sure.

Lurch just groans in response.

Gomez leans forward towards his daughter.

“I promise you my Little Viper, you’ll love Nevermore.” He looks back at his wife, “won’t she Tish?”

“Of course she will. It’s the perfect school for her.” She answers back, confident in her statement.

Wednesday cocks her head slightly to the side, almost unnoticeable.
