The screen then shows a bloody backpack, the same one the hiker from earlier was wearing.

The sheriff is standing out in the rain, staring down at something. The scene changes direction and it is shown to be the severed head of the hiker, mouth still open in a scream of terror.

Multiple kids scream, terrified. Sheriff Galpin pales dramatically along with Weems.

Tyler, Ajax, Kent, and Xavier look like they're going to be sick.

The girls, minus Wednesday and adding Eugene, all look like they might cry.

Well, Eugene looks like he might cry and he might be sick.

“Where’s the rest of him?” He asks his deputy.

“Gross. Gross. Gross.” Enid chants under her breath, trying to distract herself and not faint.

“Well,” she answers, “the torso and arm are over there.” She points to her left a little ways away, showing a bloodied appendage. “We found a leg by the lake.” She then points to her right a ways down, “there’s an arm in that tree over there and the rest of the parts are so far unaccounted for. It matches the profile of the other two attacks last week.”

Enid gags. “Oh, no.”

The sheriff nods, “alright. Issue a warning. Keep hikers out of the woods. Don’t approve any more campfire permits for the foreseeable future.”

“Good idea, Dad.” Tyler says, pale faced and breathing heavy.

“What do you want me to tell the press?” The deputy asks her boss. “You know they're going to be swarming like mosquitos in July.”

“Tell them the bear is back.” The sheriff sounds done with the question.

“You don’t believe that, Sheriff.” The deputy argues back.

“No, I don't,” he agrees. “Whatever did this wasn't human.”

They look once more at the torso and arm.

“Look, I know these murders are connected to Nevermore. I just can’t prove it yet. So, until I can… it’s a goddamn bear.”

“I find that offensive, Sheriff.” Weems says.

“I don’t care. You saw what happened as clearly as I did. You know one of your kind did it.” Sheriff Galpin says with a sneer.

“Dad. Too far. That was uncalled for. Just because an outcast might have done it, doesn’t mean they actually did and you know as well as I do that most serial killers are not outcasts, and they've done heinous and unspeakable things. Dahmer, Bundy, Jack the Ripper, H. H, Holmes,” Tyler says.

All of the outcasts look at him in surprise. They were not expecting that from him. Especially XavIer.

“Dude. When did you grow up?” Xavier asks, quite rudely.

“Oh. Uh. I'm not sure. I might have been an asshole but I didn't do it because you're an outcast.” Tyler tells him truthfully.

This is the first time XavIer believes him. He’s told him as much in the past but he always thought that was an excuse or a flat out lie. He might have been wrong about the other teenager after all.

Wednesday looks at the boy in consideration. Huh. There is definitely more to him than his flannel and blue jeans tell you at first glance. For instance, his first picks for serial killers might be pretty basic, depending on his level of knowledge… He also might be trying to dumb it down for the rest of the people in here… something to remember.
