Searching For Dust

Anna was mad. She just could not believe that Dust would spring something like this on her. She had to go to the annual disco pajama party all by herself, she had to walk the dog all by herself, and she had to go grocery shopping all by herself. Only a day had gone by, but it felt like an eternity. How in the world was she going to make it through three days without him? Everything was just so boring.

Ding-a ling-ling! The phone rang. Anna picked up. "Hello, if you're trying to contact me about my car's extended warranty, the joke is on you. I don't even have a car. I hit a raccoon and it totaled my car over a year ago." Anna said distractedly. The man on the phone replied.

"What? No, this is Erik, Dust's flight instructor. His plane has gone missing! It appears something happened to him somewhere over Ireland." Erik said urgently. "We don't know where he is, and we have no contact."

"Say no more: I will find him!" Anna said confidently.

"Wait, what? What do you mean you will find him? I just said he is lost somewhere in Irela-"

Anna didn't hear what else Erik had to say, because she was already grabbing random things and shoving them in her purse. She was out of the house in less than two minutes. Anna showed up at the airport, got on a plane by standby, and was in Ireland in less than 12 hours.

Once Anna arrived in Ireland, she realized she had no clue what to do now. She had no way to contact Dust and she had no currency to do anything with. Maybe she could get someone to trade her American money for Irish money. Anna walked up to a man who looked like he had money to trade.

"Excuse me sir, do you perchance have any money that you could trade with me for American money? She asked hopefully. The man looked very confused, so Anna started waving the few dollars she had trying to show him what she meant. Sadly, he did not seem to understand what she meant, but some guy behind him must have been watching and misinterpreted what she was trying to say, because he lunged forward, snatched the money out of her hand and ran away. Anna didn't even have time to react. She just stood there in shock, slowly losing hope. How could she have been this stupid? She was broke in another country that she didn't even know the language of, with no way to get home.

The man she had been talking to must've felt bad for her, or was seeing this as a good opportunity to kidnap her, because he was gesturing to her to follow him. She didn't really have anything better to do, so she followed him. He led her to what she assumed was his car. He held the door open for her. Anna didn't know what to do. Part of her was like "Don't be an idiot and get into some random guy's car," and the other part of her was like "Well, it's no stupider than going to a foreign country with no money, no plan, and no way back. So, you might as well get into some random guy's car." Hopefully he was bringing her to someone who knew English.

After a long awkward ride and lots of panic about her situation, the man pulled to a stop at what appeared to be a taco restaurant. This was not quite what she had expected. The man opened her door and offered her a hand. She took it and followed him into the taco place.

It was a cute little restaurant. The man led her to the back and started demonstrating how to make taco shells. Anna was very confused, but then she realized that he must be putting her to work to get money. Honestly this was perfect: She could just make taco shells till she had enough money to continue her search for Dust.
