Chapter 11: First Day as Partners ( Part 2 )

Vi and Mitch were patrolling around the town, with Mitch driving the van and Strawberry sleeping on the combat specialist's lap.

Mitch: Of course, when partnered with you it would be a slow day.

Vi: ( chuckles ) Don't tell me that you think that glitch techs get alerted of every glitch that's out there?

Mitch glanced at Vi with a raised brow, and snapped once before pointing forward.

Vi: Eyes on the road, Hotshot. You've seen my combat specialist skills, and now you can see what I was like when I was your level.

Vi holds up her gauntlet and scans through her gauntlet's screen before pressing something, and a digital map of Bailey pops up on her gauntlet, the map had different colored dots on different locations on it.

Vi: You want to go easy or go hardball?

Mitch: ( with a confused expression, while keeping his eyes on the road: ) What?

Vi: Alright, we'll go easy for today. My morning energy drinks haven't kicked in yet.

Vi then zooms in on the digital map to a blue dot that was close by where they were.

Vi: We got a normal glitch from the game " Beast Fighters" in an empty parking lot a few miles away from us, so we'll probably have to fight it. Let's Move.

Mitch: H-

Vi: I'm not just a combat specialist, remember? Glitch detector upgrade, it became unattainable to techs about two years after it came out due to malfunctions, but I was able to fix mine up with a few modifications to the code.

Mitch had a surprise look on his face as he was somewhat impressed, but he didn't show it when he saw in the corner of his eye, that Vi was giving him a slight grin as she waited to hear his response.

Mitch: Not bad, for a noob.

Vi: Sorry to break it to you, Hotshot, but you're the noob between the two of us. Now, do you want to do your job or not, because ( half  jokingly: ) I could walk, and maybe get myself unconscious again.

Mitch silently groans in annoyance in response as he continues driving forward, making Vi smile slightly.

( Slight time skip )

As soon as they got to the parking lot, Vi quickly surrounded the area with a force field that on the outside of it, looked like the parking lot was full to anyone that's outside the force field, trapping herself and Mitch with the glitch. The glitch looked like a humanoid lion wrestler that was twice their size, and Vi raised her brow at the it as it didn't seem to have noticed their presence yet, while Mitch looked at the force field the combat specialist trapped them in and Strawberry was still asleep on Vi's lap.

Mitch: Okay, what's with the weird force field-

Vi: ( to Mitch, quickly and calmly: ) You stay here and watch Strawberry, I'll handle the glitch. And while you are at it, watch and learn a few things, hotshot.

Mitch: Excuse me, wh-

Vi then hands her sleeping pink fox-bunny companion pet to Mitch, and got out of the van before Mitch could even finish his sentence.
