It was finally the day of my first quidditch match and last night madam pomphrey told Charlie he could stay in his own bed from now on. So Charlie can also watch the match in the stands as well.
I woke up super early to get ready and meet my team for a discussion.
"I can't wait to beat Potter what about you Luke?" Draco asked as he walked over to me.
"Yeah I can't wait" I replied as our team captain pulled us into a massive huddle before the game starts.
I was already dressed and ready to go and so was Draco. We could hear people talking and filling up the stands of the arena. Adrenaline was filling my veins as I got more and more hyper.
Once everyone had filled the arena we heard a whistle blow. The whistle allowed The Gryffindor team to enter the pitch. The second whistle went off and that was our sign. I ran out with Draco by my side as we both hopped on our brooms and flew up.
I got into position and looked at the crowd. I spotted Liam and Noah holding up a banner that said Go Luke. I also spotted Charlie that was sat next to madam Pomphrey in the teachers box. Someone else who caught my attention was Georgia who was holding up a Gryffindor flag.
"Ready Black"
"Ready than I'll ever be Potter"
Then the whistle blowed starting the game. Straight away I nearly got hit off my broom with a bludger luckily I dodged it.
My aim of the game was to catch the golden snitch before Potter does so I was watching him the whole time.
"OLIVER WOOD HAS SCORED!!" A young Gryffindor boy shouted through a microphone as The whole of Gryffindor cheered.
Hufflepuff and Slytherin also all cheered for Gryffindor too.
Gryffindor was now up 10 points.
Then I saw Potter holding onto his broom with two hands. His legs were dangling in the air. I flew over to him.
"What are you doing potter?"
"I'm not doing it on purpose!"
Suddenly Potter got back on to him broom and raced after something. Then I realised he had spotted the golden snitch. Now it was my time to shine. The whole arena was watching me and Harry chase the golden snitch.
The little golden ball was flying straight for the Hufflepuff tower and right before I could crash I lifted up so I didn't. However Potter didn't and crashed right into the tower.
The snitch was above me so I made the choice to stand on my broom and reach. At this point everyone was on the edge of their seats watching me.
I reached a little higher so I was on my tippy toes and jumped. I caught the Golden ball and landed on my bum back on my broom.
"THATS IT HES DONE IT LUCAS BLACK HAS CAUGHT THE SNITCH SLYTHERIN HAS WON THE GAME!!!!" A young Slytherin boy shouted as the green stands erupted into cheer. I spotted Chloe granger and Weasley rush to Harry as well as madam Pomphrey.
I flew over to the teacher stand where Charlie was and let him climb on the back of my broom. I flew us down to the ground where I was greeted in a massive hug by my team captain.
Draco came down and hugged me tightly too as did other members of my team as well as some random Slytherins.
"Well done Mr Black" Dumbledore congratulated me as he shook my hand.
"Yes indeed very well done" McGonagall said and walked away.
"Well done Mr black turns out you might have a secret talent for Quidditch" Snape said and smirked. I'm pretty sure that's the closest I've ever seen to him smiling.
I was dragged back to the locker rooms by the rest of my teammates as they congratulated me on catching the snitch.
A couple hours had passed since the victory for Slytherin and I decided to visit potter in the hospital wing. I kind of did feel bad but at the same time it was his own fault.
I walked in and walked over to Harry.
"What do you want" Georgia and Chloe said in sync.
"I was coming to see if Potter is okay believe it or not"
"No you weren't I bet you are here to boast about your win" Hermione butted in.
"Shut up granger why are you even here?"
"Because I'm his friend dumbo"
"Yeah yeah whatever anyway I wanted to say you played well and gave me a challenge today potter"
"Thanks Luke" He said "It's only a broken arm should be healed in two weeks"
"I'm sure the two weeks will fly past"
"Oh and please give my apologies to Charlie for you know his knee" Harry asked as I laughed.
"Trust me Harry I think he's already forgotten about it"
Harry laughed and smiled at me. Hermione continued to glare Ron smiled Chloe looked shocked and Georgia stared at me.
"Mr black I hope you didn't just come in here to boast to Mr Potter and his friends" Dumbledore said as he, McGonagall and Snape walked in.
"No sir he was saying that I played well today" Harry said before I could respond.
"Well that's very nice 10 points to Slytherin" McGonagall said as Snape nodded at me.
"Just because Harry has forgiven you doesn't mean that I have" Hermione said as everyone looked at her "I won't forget what you said about Harry's parents and when you called me a mudblood"
"I didn't ask you to" I replied.
"I'm just saying I'm not going to forget"
"Alright don't then why you telling me for" I asked as I could see McGonagall smile and almost laugh.
"Leave her alone Black" Weasley butted in.
"Guys leave him he didn't even do anything" Harry said in my defence.
"Honestly Harry if your going to defend someone don't defend him out of all people" Hermione said once again.
"Ms Granger I suggest you leave Mr Black alone or else it will be another detention with Mr filch" Snape said.
"Yea sir" Hermione replied.
I walked away and could hear footsteps following me.
"Luke!" Georgia called out as I stopped to look at her.
"What now" I said as she randomly hugged me.
"Sorry for me being rude before I thought you were coming to show off" She said as I hugged her back "Friends again?"
"Friends again" I said as she laughed and squeezed me harder.
"Well done by the way you played really well" She said.
"Thank you Georgia"
"Please Luke call me Gia"
"Alright then Gia I'll see you later"
"Bye Luke"
I walked back to my dorm room with a smile on my face. Hopefully Liam had fed Thor like he said he would.
I arrived at the dorm and was welcomed with confetti flying into the air. Thor hooted and flew around the room. Noah, Liam and Charlie must have invited a few people over as Draco, Blaise, Pansy and a few others where in our dorm.
I put Thor back into his cage and started dancing with everyone else as Noah blasted some music.
"SUCK IT GRYFFINDOR SUCK IT GRYFFINDOR!" Noah was chanting as everyone started joining in.
