By the time the girls reached their destination, the sun began to set, the pink glow from the clouds was the only positive thing they felt would come from this visit.
Once the train reached a complete stop the girls were quick to exit having sat in one compartment for hours too afraid to wander.
Outside waiting for them was a giant man with a bushy beard and long unruly hair that reached his shoulders. If Bri didn't instantly recognize the man she would have been just as terrified as Rylee was.
Bri tried to get the words out but her excitement made her tongue feel numb in her mouth. Rylee looked between her friend, who was obviously excited, and the man who was just staring with amusement, both of their reactions didn't help the confusion-and slight fear- she was feeling.
"Rubeus Hagrid, newly appointed keeper of the grounds here at Hogwarts," the man announced with a slight bow. "But you two can call me Hagrid."
Bri practically squealed with excitement, it took everything in her not to start hopping up and down. She couldn't believe they were actually here, of course the girl always dreamed of one day getting her Hogwarts letter, but she never expected to actually be able to see it in real life.
Rylee on the other hand had a dumbfounded look on her face, her mind was spinning a mile a minute trying to come up with a reasonable explanation on what was going on.
"I'm sorry," Rylee started making the duo look her way only to be met with her confused face. "What the hell is a Hogwarts?"
"Blimey, what do you mean 'What the hell is a Hogwarts,' didn't you watch the movies?" Hagrid asked incredulously.
"Well you see," Bri said with a slight embarrassed face, the girl didn't know why she felt embarrassed it's not like she did anything to him, but she hated the thought of disappointing a character she grew up liking. "We kind of got spun here before she had the chance to actually watch the movies."
Hagrid huffed and threw his hands up in disbelief making the girls eyes widen, "I told him to wait until you girls were farther along in the series, but does he listen to a word I say, no of course not!"
The girls watched as he put his hands on his hips and huff in annoyance finding the sassy act quite funny on his large form. Bri was particularly amused having always expected he was more sassy than the movies portrayed, but the thought of something he said made her quick to speak up.
"Um Hagrid, you said you wanted him to wait to send us here, who were you referring to?" Bri asked. Rylee nodded along with her friend even though she probably wouldn't know who it was if they were given a name.
"Oh," Hagrid stuttered starting to blush in the face. "Well you see- I wasn't supposed to say anything, really I was just sent here to come get you and take you two to see Dumbledore, I was not meant to say anything."
