Kisses of Death

II

After a whole day at the Pier we went back to my house no further forward than we were when we left my house this morning

"I guess I'm just not meant to have a prom date" I say flopping down onto my bed

"Dont give up now! We still have a whole day of school, and that new boy!" She says and I sigh

"I might just not go to prom" I say

"Um excuse me, you did not spend that much money on that beautiful dress for it to stay on your door" she says

"Do you want it?" I ask

"I cant possibly take it, it looks so beautiful on you!" She says holding my hands "come on get up" she says pulling me into a sitting up position "we are going to a party" she says

"On a school night? Father would never allow that" I say

"Thats why we don't tell him, you can sleep at mine tonight" she says

"I don't know Imp...if he finds out he'll ban me from going to the prom

"Zelda?" My father calls "I need to talk to you"

"He's home early" Impa says and I nod "I'll see you later shortie" she says with a smirk before climbing out of my window just as my Father walks in

"Oh hello Father" I say

"Hello Zelda, I am aware your prom is tomorrow" he says, getting straight to the point "Are you going with a boy?" He asks and I shake my head

"I don't have a date" I say and he nods

"Good" he says and I internally let out a sigh "because I've got you one that I approve of, he came to me first and it took a while for me to approve of him but he seems to really like you" he says

"What!?" I say "who is it?" I asked anxious of who he'll say

"His name is Groose" he says and my heart drops "and he'll pick you up at 5:30" my father says before leaving, prom starts around 5 o'clock and ends around 8 and then theres the after prom

I sigh before lying down in my bed and going to sleep

"I'm here!" Impa sings "are you ready Zel?" She asks knocking on my door

"Of course I'm ready! I say laying my make up box next to my dress and it's mask

"Right lets get going I want to go and see if we can scout out that new boy, I want to see if he lives up to his rumours" she says and I grab my bag and quickly run out with her

"I just want today to be over to be honest, I'd rather go to prom with no date them with Groose" I say and Impa gives me a reassuring smile

"We could just avoid Groose the whole time" she says as we walk to the front door

"When you say we you mean me" I say and she nods

"Ladies first" she says bowing as I leave from the front door "where do you think he will be?" She asks

"I don't know Imp" I say with a sigh

"Come on Zel, don't be sad, Prom isn't for another 7 hours" she says and I nod

"Your right" I say

"Of course I'm right, I'm always right!" She says and I smile at her

"I'm gonna go to the library" I say

"No you're not! You're going boy hunting with me!" She says

"What is up with you and these phrases first 'boyfriend shopping' now 'boy hunting'" I say

"I've said it one and I'll say it again, you will not find a good boyfriend in a library" she says before taking my hands and running into the school

"What about Fi, why aren't you spending this time with her?" I ask

"I'll spend plenty of time with her later" she says

"You say we need to go boy hunting but we've both got dates" I say trying to find an excuse for going and hiding in the library until lessons

"Zelda" she says stopping us from walking "you go to the library everyday, he will look for you there" she says

"Fine I'll stay with you, but only because I don't want to run into him" I say and she smiles

"Ah Zelda!" Groose says and I sigh

"Groose" I say trying to be as kind as possible

"Remember I'm picking you up at 5:30" he says and I hear Impa laugh so I elbow her

"How could I forget!" I say with a fake smile

"Well I'll see you later Zellie" he says  putting his hand on my face and leans in but I step away from him

I turn to look at Impa to see she's on the ground laughing "come on get up" I say grabbing her am and pulling her up

The day crawls along, almost all of my lessons had Groose in them but luckily they also had Impa in so I wasn't completely alone

"Shall I take you home M'lady?" Groose asks and I shake my head

"Impa's taking me but thank you" I say, I cant even be bothered to put a smile on my face

"Have you had a good day shortie?" Impa asks pulling me away from Groose

"Is that a joke question, wether i had a good day or not it's about to get 10x worse" I say with a sigh as I get into her car

Luckily my house is fairly close to the school so it's quick and easy to get home

"Oh lighten up, it'll be fine! I'm setting you on a mission and way, I got a picture off of Medli of the new boy and he's going to be at out prom, you need to find him" she says "I'll give you 50 Rupees" she says and my eyes widen

"To find a boy that you don't even want to date!" I say and she nods whilst she drives

"You don't have to, you could spend your evening with Groose, or you could be looking for the Romeo to your Juliet" she says

"You are aware they both die at the end right" I tell her and she gasps

"Spoilers!" She says putting her arm on her open window, Impa's car has an open roof

"Imp this isn't the first time we've studied Romeo and Juliet, we did it 4 years ago" I say

"4 years is a long time, I've forgot!" She says and I shake my head with a subtle laugh

"Well I suppose I should get ready" I say staring at my house

"I cant wait to see you in that beautiful dark blue dress" she says with a small smile

"And I look forward to seeing you in your wedding suit" I say with a small smirk

"It's not even white! it's a silver suit and I'm wearing a black shirt under it with a red mask" she protests

"Of course it isn't, so who's going to be the officiant, I'm too busy looking for 'my Romeo' so it cant be me"

"Fi isn't even wearing a white dress it's purple with a blue mask!" Impa says and I laugh at her before getting out of the car

"I'll see you late Imp, I'm looking forward to this wedding, sounds very modern, I hear the bride isn't wearing a white dress!" I say messing with her just to wind her up a bit

"Be careful shortie, or you might not get those 50 rupee's" she says as she reverses out of my drive

"Do you think I need them?" I shout before entering the house
