A/N: just to clarify, Link and Zelda are the same age like Zelda's not 14 whilst Link's 17, Zelda is 16 and Link is 17, 1 year age gap, also the masks that they wear aren't full on masks just half masks that cover their eyes and rest on their nose

I got ready into my royal blue dress and just as I put the mask on I hear the door bell ring "one second" I yell, I need to mentally prepare myself for this

"Hello" I say opening the door to Groose, I almost didn't recognise him, and if it wasn't for his hair, I wouldn't have

"Wow you look beautiful Zellie" he says and I allow myself to smile at the compliment

"Thank you Groose, you look quite handsome too" I say and he offers to link arms with me so I do as he walks me to his car

"Are you looking forward to this?" He asks, no, but I cant say that, to be fair I'll be spending most of the night avoiding him

"Yes" I lie with a convincing smile

"I promise you wont regret this" he says, well technically I had no say in this, it was completely my Father

I don't respond to that one and I just listen to the shitty music that he's playing on the car through his phone

We knew what area the prom was in because there was a massive banner saying 'Golden Goddess secondary school PROM!' The golden goddess secondary school bit was in small letters whereas the prom was in massive capital letters

"So we're here" he says and I nod before getting out the car more people were here then I thought

"Yep" I whisper "I'm going to quickly go talk to Impa" I say

"How do you know it's her?" He asks

"Hair, suit, mask, and the fact I've known her my whole life" I say and he nods

"Aww the happy couple" I say and Fi looks at me with confusion laced in her eyes whilst Impa has annoyance

"Those 50 rupee's are getting further away from your reach" she says and I sigh

"Fine I'll drop it, just send me the picture and I'll leave you to get on with your night" I say and she sends me the photo before entering the school building

"Are you ready?" I ask Groose and he nods

We walk into the school building and hand in our tickets and we start to dance "this is nice" he says and I slowly nod, my lips in a line

"I need to pop to the bathroom" I say and he nods, goddess this is gonna be a looong night!

Just as i lock myself in a stall i hear someone call my name "Zelda! Are you okay" a kind voice asks that I immediately recognise as Mipha's

"Yeah I'm okay Mipha, thanks for asking" I say with a small sigh

"I couldn't help but notice your dancing with Groose and you look quite unhappy" she says

"I'm fine" I say trying my best not to sigh again, I open the stall with the largest smile on my face "I'm loving life" I say

"Right" she whispers "well if you need me, I'll be around somewhere" she sayd and I nod before watching her leave

When she's left and only when she's left I let out my large sigh that I've been keeping in since I saw Groose

I fix my mask before going back out to Groose but to my surprise he wasn't were I left him so I took this chance to quickly hide on the second floor

I pull out my phone and open the picture of the new boy, he does look cute. It's going to be harder to find him with these masks on

"I see you've broken away from Groose, I would've thought you would spend more time with him" Impa says
