(The next morning at the Daily Planet)

Perry: "Thanks so much for taking one for the team, Kent. You're getting a raise! Probably."

Clark: "I appreciate it, Mister White. I'm just glad I could help out."

Perry: "You can call me chief, son."

Clark: "Really?"

Perry: "Nope. Great Caesar's.."

Clark: "Salad?"

Perry: "..."

(Clark grinned and stumbled out of the office, he went over to his desk as Lois looked up at him)

Lois: "Look Clark I'm sorry I.."

Clark: "It's okay, Lois. I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that."

Lois: "And I shouldn't have crashed your date. You probably saved my job too. I should be thanking you."

Clark: "Just doing my job."

Lois: "So..how'd the rest of your night go?"

Clark: "..it went fine. Yours?"

Lois: "Totally hunky dory. Ran into Superman."

Clark: "Really? So you took my advice?"

Lois: "Heh..not exactly. I almost got mugged. Lucky he was there.."

Clark: "I'll bet. I heard about Jimmy. I should go visit him."

Lois: "Yeah I'm sure he'd appreciate it."

(Clark went to leave as Lois chewed her lip thoughtfully)
