As Lincoln walked, the terrain changed from forest to desert, though to him, it was quite quick. Days turned to weeks turned to months, and something unnatural kept him alive and walking.

The desert heat did not affect him, and no thoughts entered his head. He had lost. No family, no friends, and no hope for justice. But, he couldn't give up. He must gain justice for Mary.

After months, he finally arrived at a slaver colony, collapsing on their doorstep, the hunger, thirst, and heat only just affecting him. He woke up a few hours later, bound with rope and in a chair.

A masked man with a electrostick came in, speaking in a distorted voice.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" He asked.

Lincoln gave no response but looking the man in the eye, who hit him with the weapon, and he didn't even flinch.

He looked around a minute, then spoke. "You have slaves, and I have money. Fill in the blank." He said, and they untied him.

They entered negotiations, and he had bought a force of slaves made up of natives to do his fighting where the mercenaries failed. It didn't matter to him if they died, all that mattered was Mary was avenged.
