Author's POV

"What are you doing here?" She asked nervously. He is staring at her, raising his left brow and lips formed into a lopsided grin.

"Well, I had come here with the intention to talk about the morning incident but—" He got cut off by Riti.

"Just don't!!!......How can you be so shameless, ha?" She said with gritted teeth.

He amusedly looks at her but leaving his teasing mode he starts "Riti, I know you don't like my presence as I don't like yours–" She raised her brows and  mouth shaped in 'O' form.

"Let me complete, Miss Aniti." He stopped her before she assumed anything wrong.

"I was saying that I know we're not friends and we don't stand each other for a minute. But I can't ignore the way I found you that day when I found you in your room trembling and not to forget the morning incident." He explained to her. She is somewhat in a shocked state as she didn't expect him to observe her every action keenly and questioned her.

He noticed her body shivering like someone pouring ice water on her. He held her shoulders and made her sit on her bed.

She's in a daze and those flashbacks started roaming in her head like a film. She didn't realise when her tears started spilling out of her eyes.

"Hey! Hey! It's ok …..I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you cry. It's ok you don't want to share but please stop crying." He wiped her tears gently and she lifted her tear filled eyes to look at him.

How can I tell him what I am going through? What if he thinks of me as a bad person? No..no..no…I can't!!!!!.

"Riti, I know we're not friends but we never tried to be one. Right? So, what say! Can we be friends?" He forward his hand to initiate a handshake.

She smiled lightly and saw his face. That idiotic grin never leaves his face. "What's the catch?" She asked instead.

He was baffled by her question. "Excuse me!!!! You're doubting me?" He exclaimed.

"I didn't mean that, idiot. I was just saying that you always fight with me and never leave a chance to get on my nerves. So what changed now?" She briefed him.

He chortled and shook his head "Well, I can say the same thing for you. Since the day you came here Bhabhi showers all her love upon you, Maa always makes me deliver your favourite dishes at your doorstep. Bhaiya and Beggar bunny praises you like you're the only Painter born after 'Leonardo da Vinci'. And Papa, let's not go there." He exasperated.

After hearing his jealous filled tone she couldn't control herself and burst into fits of laughter. "Oh! So Mr. Anarth is jealous of me because I'm getting all the limelight." She completed in between her laugh.

He rolled his eyes at the nickname she had given him. "It's not like that, ok. I'm just saying–" she cut him off and said "Ok…I got it. So let's start fresh." She said, making him shocked.

"Hi! I'm Swikriti Rana. Painter by profession and your 1 month old neighbour and saviour." She introduced herself but wink at the last part.

His eyes widened realising what she just said "It m….means…you…you're the one who saved me?" He inquired and she nodded her head in agreement.

"Why didn't you tell me before?…..ok leave that. Hi! I'm Anagh Agnihotri. Graphic Designer by profession and heartthrob of Delhi." He said cockily.

"Narcissistic enough" She fired back. "I heard that." He grumbled. "Good for you." She replied back.

"So, are we friends now?" He looked at her for an answer. She made a thinking face before nodding.
