Yes I am alive! I just momentarily slipped off the face of the earth... Sorry about that.

Picture of Cathy (Tabitha's friend who's actually not a very big character rn).

Sorry it's a bit of short chapter, I just wanted to give y'all something. There is however a lot of Cynthia and Houston, you're welcome (;

Have fun!

Chapter Fourteen: There's No Fun in Personal Space

"Nothing," I tear my eyes away from his piercing gaze and haul myself up from the bathroom floor.

Cleo's mouth is slightly agape and her bright eyes are wide, it's good to see she's slowly gaining her colour back.

"Can someone fucking help me?" Emily screeches from the bathtub, fighting against the curtain that she's still tangled in.

I cover my mouth with my hand to stop the hysteria from bursting out while I use my other hand to wrap around Cleo and help her up.

Once back on her feet she bursts out laughing, "calm down, I'm coming." She makes her way over to the tub and I smile as my eyes follow her. Houston clears his throat and I turn my attention back to him.

"Are you not going to introduce me to your friends?" He smirks, his eyes not leaving me.

"You weren't supposed to be back this early," I sigh as I walk past him in the doorway only to be blocked by his arm which he hoists up against the frame.

"Didn't you miss me?" He pouts making him look ten times more attractive.

"Not quite," I match his smirk and in that moment, I can't help but feel stunned that we're actually not ripping each other's heads off but instead acting like we can tolerate each other.

Our stare-off is interrupted by the sound of Emily coughing overly loud behind us; I don't even have to turn around to know how high her perfectly shaped eyebrows are right now.

I smile tightly as I spin on my heels to face the two curious girls, "Houston, this is Emily and Cleo. Cleo and Emily, this is Houston."

"What?" He teases, "no Master?"

I gag as he flashes them his dazzling smile and I can visibly see Cleo melting inside. Em has a mischievous glint in her eye and I can tell that she's already mentally picking out my wedding dress. What are best friends for right?

"It's lovely to finally meet you, we'd love to get to know you if you're going to be spending so much time with-"

"Alright he gets it," I cut Emily off with a smile that says 'I'm going to snap all of your Mac lipsticks if you keep on talking.' Houston's mouth is slightly parted as the corners begin to turn upwards.

She nods with a smirk as she clutches Cleo's arm, "well we better get going if we want to finish that Charlie Darwin presentation that's due in tomorrow!"

Although Cleo looked like she couldn't form a sentence a few seconds ago, she pinches Emily's arm and hisses, "for the last time it's Charles!"

I chuckle at them and shake my head as we walk to the front door, leaving Houston somewhere in the bathroom.

"It's so strange seeing you both in the same room, it's like witnessing an exchange between Mr Krabs and Plankton." Em shouts through a whisper.

"I agree," adds Cleo, "but they weren't always enemies."
