Song of the Chapter: Stand by Your Gun - George Ezra
(I'm going to put a song at the start of every chapter now (: It may not always relate to the chapter, it might just be what I'm really digging at the moment or what was playing when I wrote it! It's just a little recommendation, if you're looking for something to listen to...)

Chapter Two: You're in Love With a Pensioner
Houston Tate. The typical high school bad boy, again pretty cliché in all honesty. He had been arrested quite a few times, nothing major, just some stolen cars, vandalism, theft, assault etc. He had apparently slept with nearly all the girls in our school and was always in some sort of trouble. You know what the ironic thing was though? He always walked the halls like he didn't need anybody, yet here I was, protecting the little bitch.
Oh and did I mention, the self-centred prick had no idea that I fucking existed.
After I had made sure he was alive and had no broken limbs, I didn't exactly want to watch him suck face with his girlfriend any longer. In fact, I nearly shot myself there and then when he started playing with the hem of her top (that couldn't possibly be tighter may I add).
Now you see, I'm referred to as a trained assassin, but I personally think I'm more of a damn bodyguard. Houston's dad Michael is always in and out of trouble with a major drug lord, known as Damien Archambault, for some particular reason. Why? I have no idea.
Unfortunately that's all I know. My mother and father were pretty secretive when they gave me the mission a couple years back.
However, I was certain that if something extremely bad were to happen, Damien would not only come after Michael, but his son too. Houston could be used as a weapon; the possibilities of dangerous situations he could be dragged into were endless.
That was where I came in. My job was to make sure that no harm came to Houston, and it was likely that the only place that they would know to come after him would be school. Now because he was an innocent civilian, he needed to be protected. Well, that and the fact that his dad and my dad used to be best friends. I guess this was just a weird way of a friend having another's back... And I think it also helped that my dad wanted Damien dead. True friendship, am I right?
As I enter Biology, my first lesson, I spot Emily straight away. Em was probably one of my only friends here, and I'm thankful for that; she was close to the only person I could actually stand (besides my brother and Archer of course). She means the world to me, and it kills me that I can't tell her what I do, what I am.
She has these big brown eyes with hazelnut brown, silky hair that reaches her shoulders. Her dark and tanned exotic skin always makes her look naturally beautiful with her petite face. She's extremely bold and incredibly confident which makes plenty of guys swoon after her. However, one of the greatest things about her was that she didn't give a crap about social status. She was an outcast and she loved it, just like me.
"Cynthia girly! Baby girl over here!" She calls as she sees me enter the classroom.
"Hello Em, how are you this fine morning?" I breathe a laugh, giving her a genuine smile after I'd scowled at probably most of the class. See I told you, like the only person that I could stand.
"Pretty good, guess who got some last night?" She winks- oh that's Emily. She didn't really do relationships, but she was more than happy to hop from one boy to the next.
"Hm," I pretend to think, "I guess I'm going to go with Mr. Stuart?" Mr Stuart was probably the oldest teacher here and took about half an hour to walk from one side of the classroom to the other.
