lana's pov

"How you holding up, kiddo? How is living at Laroi's?" Elly asked me over the phone. I looked over my shoulder to see if anyone had entered the living room in the time from when I last looked. I was sitting on Laroi's luxurious sofa, hugging my knees with one arm, and holding my phone to my ear with the other.

"It's good." I nodded, "I'm kind of dreading telling my parents, though."

"You're gonna tell your parents?" Elly asked, not masking her surprise. She was aware about my relationship with my parents, and I let out a sigh at the thought of it.

"Yeah. Yeah, I know." I pressed my palm to my forehead, "I think I probably owe them that."

"I guess so." Elly said, "How is the house?"

"It's good. Really good." The question made me smile, "His brother showed be me around."

"What's he like?"

"I don't know. Laroi said he might initially be a bit hostile toward me because of what happened with his ex, but..." I reached over to the windowsill, and picked up a framed photo of Laroi and Austin at some kind of awards evening, "I don't know, he seems to like me."

"Of course he does. You're a very likeable person." Elly approved. I put the photo back.

I heard some noises coming from the kitchen, the room over.

"Okay, Elly, I'm gonna go. Thanks for checking up with me. I'll call you tomorrow, yeah?" I said to hear.

"Yeah, of course. I love you, Lana."

"I love you MORE, Elly." I laughed, "Bye, bye." I said into the phone before hanging up.

"Elly got an 'I love you' before me? Cool, I see how it is." Laroi walked in from the kitchen into the living room wearing a boyish grin on his face, before stretching out his hand for me to take, "Come on, I wanna show you something."

He led me into the kitchen just as Austin was walking in, we both noticed the ingredients on the table at the same time.

"Oh, for fucks sake, you're not making dinner are you?"

"Uh, yes, I am. I thought it would be nice, seeing as its Lana's first night here." Laroi laughed, "Plus, I thought Lana and I could cook it together." He looked at me, shaking my hand.

"Actually, Lana agreed to having a quick session in the studio with me." Austin couldn't help but smirk. It was true, Austin asked if I wanted to come back to the studio later, seeing as we had to keep the tour quite brief so we could actually move in my stuff.

"Oh, did she now?" Laroi looked at me, a grin that signaled he wasn't afraid to mask his pleasant surprise. I felt myself go red.

"I did, yeah." I nodded.

"Well, then. Wouldn't want to interrupt your jam sesh. Tell you what, come up with a new beat. The two of you. I could put some lyrics I've written down to it some other time." Laroi approved, "You go ahead. I'll call you both down for dinner when it's done."

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yeah, yeah. Of course." Laroi remained grinning, boyishly.

"Ok, cool." Austin shrugged, making his way out of the kitchen. I felt inclined to follow him, glancing back once to look at Laroi, who mouthed 'Oh my god.'

Austin and I walked to the studio in silence, I had decided to follow a strict 'don't speak until spoken to' instruction around Austin, something about him just told me that it was easy to get on his nerves, and seeing as I didn't know him well enough yet, I decided to play it safe. Even though he was only seventeen, he seemed a lot more mature and intimidating. In fact, I was scared that he would think I act childish. He didn't speak until he was slumped into his chair, started pressing buttons, and then spun around to face me.

"You're quieter than her."

"Excuse me?" I asked, feeling a little awkward.

"Laroi's ex." Austin nodded. He quickly caught on how awkward I was beginning to feel, "Oh, it's not a bad thing. I mean, she used to talk. I mean, it was a talent, quite frankly. Just went on and on and on and yet I couldn't recall a single conversation we had."

I couldn't help but let out a laugh, Austin allowed himself a small smile, clearly reassured that he had soothed the tension.

"Here." He spun back to face his producer's deck, using a hand to beckon me over.

About an hour had passed when Laroi finally shouted up at us, and to my surprise, Austin looked somewhat irritated.

"We were in a flow." He pursed his lips, "Oh, well. It'll come again." He looked up at me, "You're not half bad at this."

"Thanks." I said, not realizing how wide I was grinning. Luckily, Austin seemed to find it more amusing than he did strange.

"Come on, let's see how under cooked this meal is."

katarina's pov

I wracked my brain of things I could do. Lana seemed infatuated by Laroi, I'm sure he had used all his charm on her by now. It was only be so long until he started seeing other girls, and when that happened, I needed to make sure Lana was there to witness it first hand. I even considered how I would speed the process up.

"Tyler." I said, breaking the silence we had been in for the last half an hour, he almost jumped when I said his name.

"Yes?"

"If you were cheating on me, where would you hide any evidence I could use against you?" He seemed unnerved and surprised by the question.

"Uh, why?"

"Just answer it please. I just need a quick answer, I'm getting a headache."

"Um... well, phone's too obvious of a place to look. So... I guess, my laptop?"

"Yeah... makes sense." I nodded, biting my lip to prevent myself from smiling.
