Today was a full moon.
Remus dreaded full moons.
Every month on the full moon he would change into a werewolf. "Thanks Greyback."
His friends knew that he would be in a constant mood and that he would be experience the pain of the change throughout the day. The pain was something he couldn't describe to his friends. The best he could say was that it felt like something inside of him wanted to tear him apart from the inside out and escape.
Remus had been sitting in his room, dreading the day, when he got word that McGonagall wanted to see him. Now he usually would be excited to see Minnie since its usually to give him good book recommendations or talk about his excelling academics, but recently his conversations with her have been.....dreadful. One finding out his sister was alive and two getting yelled at for disowning said sister.
Remus couldn't begin to wonder what she wanted, but she did know that he was a werewolf. She found out in Remus' first year when he had shifted in his room and ran through the halls chasing a cat, or McGonagall in cat form. Since then she has been there to help Remus with his transition the best she can. She is the only teacher who knows and she has always kept his secret.
Other than McGonagall Remus' close friends knew. James and Sirius even turned themselves into animagi a few years back so he wouldn't have to transition alone. Remus admitted that this was sweet of them but that it was a horribly stupid idea because "he could have ripped them to shreds" the moment he saw them in the woods.
Luckily Remus' werewolf has adjusted to the company.
Remus had finally arrived at McGonagalls door and was about the knock when he heard whispering inside.
"He's never going to agree," a hushed whispered voice said.
"He doesn't have a choice this is for the best," McGonagall said.
Remus knocked on the door after realizing that he shouldn't have been eavesdropping. That's when he heard someone shuffling around inside and a quick closing of a door, which Remus assumed was McGonagalls other door leading outside the castle.
"Come in," McGonagall said.
Remus opened the door and looked around to see if he could spot any trace of the other person but no one was there. "Hey Minnie, what's up?"
"Tonight is the full moon Remus, which means you will be shifting again," Minnie said with a concerned look.
"Yes, like it's been for the last thirteen years. So?"
"Well I have found someone to help you."
"To help me what?" Remus questioned with a puzzled face.
"To help you control your shifting so that you can shift in and out of werewolf form as well as control your actions while in werewolf form."
"WHAT????" Remus said shocked. He was never informed that this was an option. He thought he would go his whole life being uncontrollable one day a month. "I don't understand. If this was an option this whole time why haven't you mentioned it."
"I was only brought to my attention this year when someone informed me that they had been able to successfully do it."
"Wait there's another werewolf here?" Remus said shocked.
McGonagall paused as if trying to figure out the best way to phrase what she was going to say next.
"She just arrived this year."
That's when it him.
"Are you telling me my sister is a werewolf and has the ability to control her wolf?"
