Remus's Sister (Regulus Black)

Chapter 11: Class Partner

Did last night really happen? My sister right in front of me. It's not possible. I must have dreamed it.

But I didn't. This was reality. My sister was alive.

That means everything McGonagall said was true. She was taken. Tortured. Different.

She was standing right there and I walked away. I know why I did it. I couldn't live with myself if my sister wasn't who she used to be. If she was evil. It was better never seeing her again then seeing her come back as a deatheater.

I had been sitting up in my bed looking out the window the whole night. I didn't sleep. Couldn't.

The sun had finally risen two hours ago but I still didn't move. 

I saw the door handle move and heard the creaky door open. And then I saw Sirius come into the room looking winded like he had just run here.

"Mooney Mooney," Sirius said as he ran over to my bed. "I had to get here as fast as possible so I could tell you what McGonagall said." Sirius paused taking a deep breath.

"Well what did we say?" Remus asked curious.

"Well you might not like it but she said your sister is joining our potions class. She just wanted me to remind you that she was here as to not shock you."

"To late for that. Seeing her last night was shock enough," Remus said with a huff.

There was a long pause before Sirius said, "sooooo...are you going to talk to her today?"

"No" Remus said.

Sirius looked at him with a pleading look.

Remus continued, "And before you try and convince me otherwise just know I still won't. Even if you beg me."

Sirius sighed, "Fine. But it looks like you're actually the immature one in this relationship." Remus' face flushed.

Sirius stuttered "you know I mean our friendship."

"Course course," Remus said back.

There was a long pause of silence before Remus said, "Let's just get to class and get this over with."

Remus' plan was to avoid at all costs. He could live with that. He already thought she was dead once.

Remus walked into the classroom and looked around. He took a big breath of relief when he didn't see her there. Maybe she wouldn't show up.

Remus walked over to the front of the classroom and sat in his normal seat next to Lilly. He always sat next to lily because he didn't need Sirius or James screwing up the partner projects. And Lilly was one of his closest friends. That's why she was already informed about the whole sister coming back from the dead situation and had aggressively suggested to Remus that he was a fucking idiot for basically abandoning his sister last night in the forest after she helped them.

The rest of the class started to filter in when Remus felt a tap on his shoulder.

Sirius said in a whisper "looks like your sister just got here."

Remus turned towards the door and saw his sister walk into the classroom.

As mor walked into the classroom she could see Remus sitting in the front row. He was looking back at her with an unreadable expression.

She smiled at him if only to show that she wasn't a threat. But once Remus saw her smile he looked away avoiding eye contact.

"Hey Mor. Over here."
