Rachel
The following day, she showed up at Joseph's studio at noon. He hadn't specified the time so she assumed it would be the same as yesterday. Butterflies tickled her tummy as she went up the stairs. All she could think about was how his rough skin had felt on her collarbone the day before. The memory held her so captive, that it took her a few seconds to realize the door was locked. Disappointment quickly snuffed out her anticipation and just like that, her anxiety sky rocketed.
Had she been too forward? Had she misread him? Maybe he didn't find her appealing. After all, who would want someone as broken as her?
Rachel pulled out her phone to call him but stopped before she could hit the call button. How desperate would she seem if she called him after being stood up. She tucked her phone away and bit her lip as she deliberated what to do next.
