The Real Me

First day

BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!!

Uhg I hate that sound. It means it's the first day of the school year. A new school and new people, I guess it's all part of the transition to high school.

I look at the clock and see that it's already 6:30am. I really hate mornings I never was a morning person.

I do finally get out of bed and take a shower. When I get out I pick out my outfit and I end up picking a pink camouflage t-shirt and a pair of jeans with my cowgirl boots. What can I say I'm a country girl that's not changing my ways for anything.

After I get dressed I go down stairs and eat breakfast I don't have much time till I have to catch the bus so I make toast and put some Nutella on it. Man I love that stuff!

When I get to the bus stop my two best friends are already there, Nicole and Sam.

Nicole and I have been friends since we were in dippers and she has always been there for me.

Sam on the other hand I met in seventh grade soon as I met him I knew I had to know more about him.

Soon as they see me they run over to me and start talking about how amazing this school year is going to be.

"Guys I really don't think this year is going to be all that amazing. I mean it's more school and more people to target me."

"Are you kidding me!" Yelled Nicole "This year is a new start a new you, don't let the past influence you now"

"She's right you have changed so much don't let anybody get you down now." Says Sam

Incase your wondering I'm Amy I barley have any friends. I was the fat girl in school the one everybody picked on and called whale or asked where is sea world? But over the summer I lost a lot of weight like sixty pounds. I was a size 13 in juniors now I'm a size 5. I don't think I'm that pretty even though people tell me I am all the time. I have bright blue/green eyes that I think is my only good feature.

When the bus comes we get on I end up sitting next to Sam while Nicole sits with her other friend Lynn.

Oh and did I mention I might have a little crush on Sam. Well I do. I have since the first week I started hanging out with him. I don't think he feels the same so I haven't said anything. But I hope to tell him someday and see if he feels the same.

When we get to the school I'm prepared to be laughed at and picked on. But when I walk through the doors of the school with both of my friends by my side I'm not it's complete opposite actually.

Everybody is looking at me confused. I try to figure out why they are looking at me like that. Then a girl I have hated since kindergarten Halley comes up to me. She looks at me for a while I'm waiting for some kind of snotty mean response to come from her mouth but what I hear surprises me. "Do I know you from some where?"

I was completely surprised. After a minute I finally answer "yeah I believe you do. It's Amy remember me the 'whale'?"

I was surprised by my confidence in my answer, I believe she was too by look she was giving me. "Oh look at that the whale isn't a whale very much anymore. What happened did sea world stop feeding you and set you free?"

"Actually they saw a 'whore whale' that needed help and decided that was more important and then you came in my place."

Next thing I know everybody is laughing and Halley has a very shocked and upset face.

She storms away and everybody is clapping and cheering me on. Looks like this year is going to be different. But a good different Sam was right I have changed and not just in appearance I'm stronger and more confident now. So come at me with your best shot high school I will win!
