The only reason you wouldn't want to go swimming on June 13th, its the time for the creatures in the lake (they still don't have a name) to come and breed. Its not such a big deal unless your in the water with them, you may or may not get eaten alive out there. I realized I had to go warn Patrick but it was too late he jumped in the lake. I had to do something to save him or he was going to die. I quickly threw on my wetsuit, grabbed an air tank from the garage, and ran to the lake. Oh and in case your wondering why we have air tanks its because the lake is super deep towards the middle so sometimes we go scuba diving. When I arrived at the lake I realized it was too late the current had stopped, no noise at all. The lake went dead silent, so silent you could hear a pin hit the ground. On the other side of the lake I noticed a shadow in the water, then a fin, and it was heading straight for Patrick. I started to panic, what could I do to save him? Then I got an idea, an awful one. I ran to grandpas shed where he kept his saltwater fishing equipment. I grabbed the harpoon and went back to the lake. I noticed the fin got closer to Patrick, not a good sign. I jumped into the lake and made my way over to where Patrick was standing. The lake was cold and very cloudy so it was hard for me to see where I was going, then I saw it.

The monster wasn't as big as I suspected but it was still pretty big, maybe four or five feet long? It bit Patrick twice on the leg, he wasn't bleeding that badly so I assumed the bites weren't to bad. Then It saw me, and my heart skipped a beat. I noticed Patrick left which was great and all but now he basically just screwed me over. Now that it was looking at me I saw how terrifying it truly was. Instead of having a normal mouth it had these three folds on its face and when it lifted then up there was another set of teeth. Its eyes were lifeless, as if it had no feelings at all. The body of the creature looked sort of shark like except the fins, it had more than a regular shark would. This thing was pure nightmare fuel.

"Holy sh-" I said before getting rudely cut off by Bill, the shark thing. Did we really name that thing Bill? Of course we did, he kind of looks like a Bill doesn't he? No he kind of looks like a hungry animal trying to bite our head off.

Bill didn't like me very much and wanted me dead, which is understandable I've wanted people dead before. But I wasn't going to let Bill kill me, at least not right now. Bill went to bite my leg off, I dodged it and jabbed the harpoon through Bill's head. Bill screeched and was shaking vigorously trying to get the harpoon out of his head. I swam over got a tight grip on the harpoon and dug it deeper into Bill's head until he finally stopped moving. Bill's eyes rolled back into his head and he sank to the bottom of the lake. I swam back to the shore and collapsed on the bank. The adrenaline had already worn off and I felt exhausted. I felt a stinging sensation in my leg, a little baby Bill bit my leg and was still there, like a leech. When I finally came inside it was around 12 a clock, I spent three hours saving Patrick's ass. I walked back up stairs and made my way to my room. On my way I saw Patrick again writing in a journal.

"Hey, Pat.. How's it going?" I asked.

"Ok I guess.." he responded.

"What's that on your leg? Looks like something maybe attacked you out there" I said.

"Oh what these no I just, uh got scratched up from some thorns on my way to down to the lake." he replied.

"Your telling me you got cuts like that from a thorn bush?" I asked.

He nodded.

"Whatever."

When I finally got to my room I remembered that Baby Bill was still on my leg. I yanked it off and chucked it out my window. Au revoir mon avi I thought.

Later that night I could hear grandpa yelling at grandma about Patrick, and he did mention the harpoon once or twice. I was in bed (couch) thinking about what happened today, and that's when I made my decision.
