I woke up in a cold sweat. My alarm clock stood with a dead black display on its face. I took out my phone and checked the time; 3:23. I'll never be able to fall asleep after this, it's bad enough that I can hear the storms in the distance, but now I can't even watch television. I felt a creek in the floor, coming from my doorway. I looked out and saw... Nothing. I saw nothing there, but the floor was rapidly creeping almost as if something small was running across it. The sound pulsated to the other half of my room, farther away from my door. I turned to look at it... Nothing. It wasn't until then that the creeping got louder. I turned to my door to see the silhouette of a person shorter than me. I felt like a caged animal, trapped in my room by this boy in my doorway.

"Who are you?" I demanded in a panic.

"Patrick, calm down, it's me, Jack. I have something to show you"

Whelp, this is the day that I die, the day that Jack murders me. Curiosity killed the cat... But that's not the entire phrase, there is often a line that people forget about, that line is: Satisfaction brought him back. How did I know that something wasn't wrong, maybe Riley was dead or Grandma had a seizure. I need to know.

I followed Jack downstairs into the kitchen, in the next room over I could hear my grandparents having an intense discussion on some history channel documentary. Jack walked swiftly into the room and shot them both in the neck... With darts. Tranquilizer darts.

"We have some work to do, I don't need them interrupting," Jack said. We continued walking until we reached the library. "Watch this," Jack said. He pulled on a book like they do in the movies. "It Lurks In The Woods" read the cover. Five feet away a door opened and Jack spoke. "Welcome, to my study".
