Jack ran past my door and I slammed my journal shut. I was just taking some notes on my summer read book but I did not need him looking through my book. 30 seconds later I heard Riley chasing after him and her getting locked in the bathroom. I was planning on just reading my book again but when I slammed it shut I lost my page. I decided that I would go outside. As I made it too the living room I saw Jack slip into the library. I attempted to trail him but as soon as I stepped into the room that was filled with shelves and books, he vanished.

The Next Day

Today there was nothing really of interest going on... That's a lie. Something happened but I have not told anyone about it yet because I wasn't sure if I could even trust my own senses. Around, say, 9 in the morning I went out to the lake that our grandparents live on to go for a swim. Everything was fine for about an hour, I was swimming laps and attempting to hold my breath for a long period of time.

It wasn't until then that I noticed anything weird. The lake went silent, no fish splashing, no seaweed floating in the current, no nothing. I felt something bite my leg, it happened twice, I saw a fin rise out of the water. I imediatly assumed it was a shark, but I knew it wasn't, I rushed out of the water and ran inside.

Later that night when I was brushing my teeth I heard my grandparents arguing in their room.

"THE BOY IS ALREADY SEEING THEM, I SAW HIM ON THE LAKE TODAY, ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME," screamed my grandad only loud enough for me to barely hear. I fell after that, tripped on the wet bathroom floor, they had heard me and stopped talking. I decided that night that I would get to the bottom of this.
