Love at First Sight

Chapter 1

Do you believe in love ?

Everyone could be loved no matter how imperfect they feel inside. It is a universal word spoken in diverse languages. In french,love is called amour, "Amor" in Spanish and "ai" in mandarin but it's essence remains unchanged.

The countless romantic movies and novels fills my mind with precious moments. I recall the disgust on high school sweethearts but i still find myself on having never-ending crushes that refuses to fade. Love unfolds in its own rhythm. Love is a journey not a destination when you take the risk.

Life was not as perfect as I imagined in reality. My mind had blown far away from what was surrounded by me when Jasmine's fingers snapped me back to reality.

"Wake up,dream girl" Jasmine said

I blinked my eyes at her"Huh ?" It dawned on me that i was in the middle of the hallway.

Students were all whispering at each other from ear to ear and i was confused for a little while. I thought it was about me and felt embarrassed. Jasmine dragged my arm and pushed me by my locker roughly.

"Ow,would you mind ?"

"Sorry but you were in the middle of the hallway being all dreamy. Anyways that's not what i wanted to tell you about"

"What is with all the chatters everywhere ?" I looked around curiously even though I hated the way she pulled me to the locker roughly.

"The biggest and wildest party of all times is happening this friday at madison's place. Everyone's invited expect you."

I rolled my eyes and then stopped saying "That's all it's about,not like i care. She's a mean bully to me since when i was little and have no single idea why."

"I'm sure she's not a bully or maybe it's because you did something to her or...."

"You don't know her at all. She is like a nightmare to me. She is always after what she wants. Besides, madison has always being jealous of me because I always take first position while she comes second following behind like a puppet." I chipped in not allowing her to complete her statement.

"Okay whatever"Jasmine shrugged her shoulder calling out her boyfriend,Bryan.

Bryan turned away from the person he was with then gave that little wave to her. Jasmine ran to hug him so tightly. Bryan spinned her round twice before dropping her down lightly. Bryan gave her a kiss on her cheeks then she blushed. My best friend was having fun while i was here looking all moody on all these boys problems.

"Could you guys get a room ?" I gagged bringing my tongue out.

Bryan stuck his tongue out at me. Rude,i just glared at him and walked away to my locker to pick my books getting ready for classes. As i closed my locker,bryan and jasmine were being all lovey dovey beside my locker.

"Geez,isn't it about time you need to be reminded that you are in school"

"Don't be all bossy,missy!!!"

Before i could retaliate, the bell rang for first period. Students hurriedly left the hallway for classes. Bryan ran away quickly from me.

"You got so lucky this time maybe next time." I snapped my fingers to the air. Students stared, thinking i was crazy, as I was well aware I was crazy sometimes.

I walked hand in hand with jasmine to head to class because we have the same class for first period. It always felt right when i have my best friend by side all the time.

Students were already sitted for class waiting the teacher to come. Luckily,we found seats next to each other and squealed happily.

Everywhere was suddenly quiet. The teacher introduced herself as Mrs. Trina Jackson,our new substitute English teacher. She shared a pop quiz to everyone in class to be done under ten minutes. I finished in five minutes and waited for the papers to be collected.

Mrs trina took all our papers and told us that we would get it back tomorrow. She taught about how to write an expository essay but found myself sleeping throughout the class.

"Don't forget to write an expository essay on yourself and submit it on our next class."

"Miss Roberts,please wait behind after the class."

The bell rang for next period and i had to stay back to see Mrs trina.

"Miss roberts,it looks like you are a very brilliant child from your last year's grade. Your works are very impressive. Get the notes from jasmine and submit to me tomorrow morning. Understand ?"

"Yes ma" I hurried to my next class.

I had other subjects like biology,physics and chemistry till it remained P.E and i was thrilled because the students were all asked to stay in the gym for our fitness exercises. During P.E,i got to meet all my friends and chat up. Soon after the bell rang for the end of classes. My heart pumped with joy.
The classic way to end a day in school.

I called out to my friends to hurry up and meet at the park. I ran as fast i could to the park waiting for Jasmine,Bryan and James. Bryan brought his car from the other end of the park and we all got in. We bought a lot of junk foods always stocked in the car in case of hunger emergency.

My house was the nearest to school so Bryan dropped me off first then waved them goodbye before Bryan sped off.

I brought the spare key and put it in the lock and opened the door and closed it gently behind me. The house was quiet not as noisy when my little sister is around.

As i went to the kitchen to take a glass of water to drink,a voice squealing with excitement then i knew it was definitely my sister. She ran quickly to give me a hug.

"Sophy,come take your bag"Dad called her.

Sophy ran to dad and took the bag. I wondered why sophy was this hyper active.

"Dad,what's up with sophy ?"I raised my eyebrows at him.

"I got all A's in my subjects"Sophy squealed with joy showing me her report card.

"Awwwwn so proud of you" I parted my arms to give her a big hug.

Dad just stood and smiled at us. He then went up to his room leaving us alone in the living room.

I stuffed chocolate cookies in my hands upstairs to my room. I munched all the cookies at once until i was fully satisfied. I laid on my bed checking up my Instagram to check on jennifer's page. I was not stalking her just checking for updates of some sort.

I put my phone down on the table and laid down on the bed,staring at the ceiling. I tried closing my eyes to sleep but my eyes were wide awake. I rolled from side to side still nothing. I decided to watch some of old videos in my phone. It didn't take me five minutes before sleep swooped me off my fingers.
