Love at First Sight

Chapter 5

My heart raced as I checked my watch for the second time. My mind was thinking of the worst case scenarios of my mother's wrath.

"I'm almost late" I said stopping mid way to the bakery with my friends.

"Late for what? Since when do you get late for something?" Jasmine asked.

"Since now. Mum brought up curfew time this morning and i completely forgot. She's gonna kill me."

Jayden placed his arm around my shoulders. "Buy us some time. We just got here."

"It doesn't hurt to take a bite of that delicious and scrumptious piece of cupcake." Wes said.

"Very tempting, Wes. You have to eat fast so we can leave including Wes. Promise you won't waste my time." I said.

They all nodded as we headed towards the B & B's bakery.

The bell above the door jingled as we stepped into the bakery. My eyes widened at the decor- the bright pink couches and the glass case filled with tons of pastries.

We walked towards the glass case meeting up with a brunette girl with brown eyes. She wore her hair up into a ponytail.

"Welcome to B & B's Bakery. What can i get you ?" The sales girl smiled at us while calculating the profit she has made.

We placed our orders on our cupcakes. I chose to pay for everyone since i negotiated about this "cupcake" idea.

As I turned to grab our orders, my eyes landed straight on madison. Desmond sat facing opposite her looking so invested in his cake.

I smiled at her before heading to my friends were seated waiting for me. All the way from school she followed me here? Now this was called stalking of the highest order. Nothing more than i hate in this world is being followed.

"Pick up the pace. Chop, chop, chop !" Wes rhythmically clapped his hands.

I stopped "Unless you shut your mouth, no cupcake will be ready for you mister." I rolled my eyes and continued walking to them.

"Someone looks pissed off today" Jayden rested his left hand on the table to support his chin.

"Crazy bella,here we go." Bryan said.

"I mean...I...oh look the cupcakes." I sturtted.

They all took their cupcakes from the pastry box not even allowing me to set it down. They must be really hungry. The mere sight of cupcake was not enticing for me. I am still reeling over my mother's flare of anger that I am going to face at home. Today was the wrong day for this atrocity of madness. Maybe i will live in the basement or with chase, our dog in his house?

"Cheers to bella for planning this cupcake for all of us!" Jasmine said, raising her hand with cupcake.

A flash of smile washed over my face. The rest of us took our cupcakes pretending to clink it like a glass of wine. I took a bite of my strawberry chocolate cupcake. It was delicious. I helped myself finishing a cupcake and taking another one till i had no appetite for more.

"Yay,what are we celebrating ?" Madison mocked in a cheeky tone.

"None of your concern" I gritted between my teeth half-open, half-closed.

"That attitude can't guarantee you an invite to my party."

"Fine by me."

My guts twisted inside wanting to go for the party. I acted cool not to fall for her devious tricks. Madison was definitely up to something.
