cw: family in hospital (nothing tragic ((yet)) but I wanna make sure no one feels uncomfortable when reading this)
When Blade sat next to you during your biochem lecture, you were beyond shocked.
Not like you didn't mind it, it's just you thought 'toleration' meant you wouldn't argue. But here he was, scooting into the row next to you, just one seat in between which you were using for food. Blade settled in, then paused, turning his head to you, noticing your gaze.
"What?" He asked, his tone annoyed. You shook your head and glared, facing forward.
"Nothing." You said nonchalantly, though you couldn't help but be curious. "You're usually in front of me."
"Better view back here." He muttered, grabbing his computer and notebook out. You knew immediately he was lying - Blade's seat was one of the best in the hall, perfect view of the board, and close enough to actually see the professor. This intrigued you - why would he lie?
"If you say so." You settled with saying, before facing forward, grabbing a chip from the bag on the seat between you and Blade. The lecture began and the hall fell into silence as Professor Min began speaking, rambling on about enzymology. You typed away furiously, hoping to get as much notes as you could while still processing the information - and you'd write it down on notebook later.
Blade on the other hand, was calm. He took simple notes, and his handwriting was neat, especially for a guy. You were jealous, but you remembered your deal: 'toleration'. So instead of jealous, you went with annoyed. That'd work.
"Aeons, you are one of the loudest chip eaters I've ever met." Blade whispered to you, poking your arm that was resting on the side with his pencil. "Could you be quieter?" Your eyes narrowed - the audacity of this bitch.
"Shut up." You hissed, pushing his arm away. "I didn't have breakfast." That was true - You'd spent all night worrying about your sister. You had plans to visit her on the weekend, only four days from today, if she was still in.
"Neither did I, and you don't see me munching away on one of the loudest snacks known to man." He grumbled, taking a second to write down a couple bullet points from the slide. You stared at him, as though he was an absolute idiot.
"Sorry, I guess." You replied sarcastically, shaking your head and turning your attention back to the front. "I was gonna offer you some, but since they're too loud for your liking, I'll take it back." Blade went silent, and the only sound was a few murmurs from around the hall, and the voice of Professor Min.
"Really?" Blade asked after a while. You turned back to him, and while he seemed uninterested, you knew you had grabbed his attention. A smirk formed itself on your lips, and you scoffed playfully.
"Yeah." You pushed the bag to his side slightly. "Sorry for being an 'emotional dumbass'." The corner of Blade's lips twitched, and although you turned away, seconds later you heard the rustle of a chip bag followed by a soft crunch. Your face softened into a smile - one you didn't know you had at the thought of Blade.
You paid no more attention to him, the two of you now collectively sharing the snack as your professor continued lecturing, her voice beginning to bore you. You yawned, typing down notes as quickly as you could while simultaneously eating chips. After a while, you spared another glance at Blade. Yeah. You could get used to this.
----
When class ended, you stood up from the seat, stretching your bag after the two and a half hour long lecture. You packed up your bag quickly, folding up the empty chip bag to throw in the trash can. You and Blade were the only two left in the hall, as the others had left immediately.
