"You'll like it here, I promise" mom said as I put the last box on the couch. I rolled my eyes. That's what she said the last time we moved and as soon as i started liking where I was, we'd move again.
"Sure mom" I sighed. She kissed my head.
"Give it some time, it's Georgia, who doesn't love Georgia?" she said laughing. Then she walked off.
"Me" I muttered. I sighed and took my box upstairs to my room. This sucks. Who wants to move 3,000 miles away from their friends, boyfriend, and family? I sure didn't. I flopped onto my bed and pulled out my phone. The first thing that pulled up was a call on my phone from my long-time friend Ally.
"Hey" I sighed answering.
Ally: "Hey, oh my god i miss you so much"
Me: "I've only been gone for a day"
Ally: "Feels like years"
I was quiet.
Ally: " You and Derek, Is that still a thing?"
I scoffed.Me: "We're kinda working things out i guess, sort of a long distance relationship. I've heard it never works out but i'm still willing to try"
Ally: "Sorry about that Robin"
Me: "Yeah, but i mean, i'm gonna have to just live with it, we may be far but i still love him. I hate it down here"
Ally: "You should love it, you've got everything down there. Disney, awesome amusement parks, everything!"
Me: "Nothing's just that fun when you don't have your friends with you"
Ally: "I swear i'll visit as soon as we get our next break. I gotta go, mom's calling me. Talk to you later?"
Me: "Not soon enough, alright i'll let you go. Bye"
Ally: "Bye"
Then i hung up. I'm not gonna lie. I did miss Derek. He was the very best part about my life. We'd been dating for four years and not once did we even think about break up. But of course that was before i told him about this. We fought, i cried, he got mad, we needed space and then when the day came we just didn't want to let each other go. I sighed and looked around bored. I had nothing to do and i didn't want to waste my battery. I decided to get up and do some unpacking."Stupid move" i kept muttering as i searched through my playlist on my phone. I ended up playing 'Strings' by Shawn Medes and opened the window to let the paint smell wear off. Then out of no where my younger sister Brooklyn walked into my room.
"Hey, what do you think this is, some kind of circus? get out" i said. She flopped onto my bed.
"My room smells too much like paint" she said.
"I don't care, open a window! You're not hanging out in my freaking room" i said. She groaned, left, and i shut the door behind her.
"Great, on top of moving to Georgia, i have a naggy sister, anything else you'd like to add, God?" i said looking up at the ceiling. And i swear right when i turned around there was a boy hanging onto my window sill. Of course i screamed. The guy only looked around.
"Jacob here?" he asked.
"No!" I cried.
"Oh i forgot, he moved. My bad" he said.
"Who are you?" i gasped. He half smiled at me.
"I'm your neighbor" he said smoothly.
"Get out!" i shouted at him. He shrugged and let himself drop.
"No!" i cried. What was he doing? i'm on the second story, how in the world did he get to my window. When i ran to the window and looked out of it, i saw him brushing himself off. Then my mom and dad ran in.
"We heard you scream" they both said. I quickly turned to them.
"Oh um, no no that was just uh...i was urm...practicing for....opera" i lied. It was the best lie i could think of at the moment. Mom looked confused.
"Opera?" she said.
"Uh, yeah it um, it's a thing" i said.
"O-kay then, just...be a little quieter" dad said. Then they left and i looked back out my window. The boy was staring up at me laughing. I glared then shut my window.
"I'm gonna see who this kid is" i muttered to myself. And i headed down the stairs.
